Choose Your Own Brainwashing, Day 7

“So you’d like to be compelled to serve me? Do you really understand how compulsion changes your mind? Bends your will? Thwarts your desires and bends your needs to fit mine? You’ll soon find out.”

From anyone else those words would sound threatening, but from Lee they resonate with encouragement. In that moment your desire to serve is almost overtaken by a need to be overcome by her will. If you could move, you’d be trembling with excitement. What will happen next, you wonder?

“The first part of your brainwashing has already begun, because of course I’ve been doing it all along. And it’s fine that I tell you that, because before we’re done you won’t need to remember that you’ve been brainwashed at all. But I want you to know it now, so I want you to open your eyes and look around.”

You do as you’ve been directed. The world has a surreal look to it as you turn your head to take in the rest of the train car. Maybe it’s that your eyes can’t keep up with the movement and seem to be skipping along out of your control. Maybe it’s that everything is either just the tiniest bit out of focus or so detailed that it’s uncanny. You almost lock eyes with the person sitting across from you, your gazes skidding off one another like steel on concrete. You wrench your eyes towards the window instead.

The velvet curtains frame a sheet of glass that looks into darkness. (A very small part of you takes the time to wonder just how long you’ve been on this train, another part answers ‘not long enough.’) You search for any break in the blackness beyond the glass.

“I see you’ve noticed that it’s night. It’s a shame really, because we’re traveling through an amazing landscape right now. I wonder if you look carefully enough, if you might not be able to see something wonderful despite the darkness?”

You look very carefully, and find that you can see a pinpoint of light, a tiny, dazzling spiral that expands to fill the entire window as you watch. It appears to be traveling alongside your train, and it is simply the most fascinating thing you’ve ever seen. You find yourself unable to get an idea of how it looks, because your eyes keep sliding from its outside edge to its inner point and back again.

“Spirals can be fascinating, don’t you think? My personal favorites are those that spin clockwise, drawing me down into their depths, although I know that some people like spirals that seem to pull away, or even those that don’t seem to spiral at all.

What kind of spiral do you prefer?”

  1. Clockwise Spin
  2. Anticlockwise Spin.
  3. No Spin at all.
  4. All Spirals are good.
