Warmage Redux 2.0
Added 2020-06-01 05:31:00 +0000 UTCWe're rounding the final bases on our "making every base class as watertight as possible" tour, and I'm not exaggerating when I say the warmage had some of the toughest design hurdles in the lineup. We spent nearly three months working on this on and off, but we think we've nailed it! (Or at least, very nearly—we might need to change the numbers of the Cantrip Bonus Damage column a bit.)
We’ve fixed every subpar feature in the core chassis, rewritten most of the subclasses, and revamped the tricks from the ground up. The goals this time were to make warmages more customizable than before, and to make them easier to play for first-timers, so this should be an extremely easy class to playtest.
If you get the chance to play this, please hop on the Discord and let us know how it runs!

2020-07-06 00:59:07 +0000 UTCDark Matter yes, Fey Folio kind of.

2020-06-03 19:08:52 +0000 UTCAre the subclasses from Dark Matter and Fey Folio still fairly balanced?

2020-06-03 13:58:37 +0000 UTCOh, I'm sorry! I misread your initial message. The King's weapon proficiency are intended to be more of a ribbon feature; the maneuvers and battle dice provide plenty of power and complexity for third level.

2020-06-02 22:32:40 +0000 UTCIsn't Force Breastplate Knights only? That isn't really a solution for Kings.

2020-06-02 21:32:23 +0000 UTCYou can focus Str/Int just fine, since Force Breastplate uses your Int instead of Dex for AC.

2020-06-02 19:32:45 +0000 UTCI feel like the weapon proficiencies for House of Kings are a bit of a ribbon; as I don't see options to use them outside of a Strength build. And a Strength-based Kings build is as MAD is a Str Ranger, which seems suboptimal. If the subclass is intended to be Dex/Int focused like all the others except Knights, that's fine; I just feel as though the weapon proficiencies granted suggest otherwise.

2020-06-02 18:35:52 +0000 UTCI just fixed both. Re-download in a few minutes, and those typos should be fixed

2020-06-01 17:23:16 +0000 UTCSome typos: in Bishop’s Maneuver trick, the last section says "and when you take the Disengage action, and your movement speed increases by 10 feet". Also, in Field Medic, there's "Once a regains hit points due to this ability".
2020-06-01 17:19:47 +0000 UTCVery good catch. It's one a "once on each turn" thing
Mage Hand Press
2020-06-01 16:59:22 +0000 UTCGood catch! The House of Pawns initially had three features, which got consolidated down. Will be changed soon
Mage Hand Press
2020-06-01 16:58:57 +0000 UTCWith the way that the Fundamental Mastery feature is worded, a House of Pawns warmage could maximize the damage on all of the attacks from force blade or magic daggers, since they’re separate damage rolls. I assume that’s not what is intended, but a “once on each turn” clause would fix the issue.

2020-06-01 16:28:46 +0000 UTCThe 3rd level features given by the House of Pawns imply that there is a third feature that they are supposed to gain, saying, “Also at 3rd level,” and, “Lastly, at 3rd level.” Is there a feature missing or did one just get cut and the language didn’t get changed?

2020-06-01 15:53:33 +0000 UTCResistive is only sitting at +2 because it doesn't support medium armor. You can think about it as a relative +1 to non-medium armor builds, if that makes sense.

2020-06-01 07:58:49 +0000 UTCGood catch. I'll fix that right away!
Mage Hand Press
2020-06-01 07:57:17 +0000 UTCA lot of subclasses get access to other armor types, perhaps resistive should give a +1 to medium armor (and possibly to cloak of feathers)

2020-06-01 07:39:38 +0000 UTCThe tricks table and the tricks feature don’t match up
