Draconis Fundamentum
Added 2017-04-01 05:30:05 +0000 UTCBow before the mighty dragon gods...
The Draconis Fundamentum puts a magnifying glass on everyone's favorite scaly, flying, (and often fire-breathing) predators. This book's archetypes, feats, spells, and monsters are designed to give players and GMs their dragon fix, finally fulfilling our long-time goal of making it possible to play a party entire composed of dragon-themed characters, regardless of class or race. Moreover, our new feat chain allows you to gradually transform your character into a dragon, providing a boon to dragonborn and half-dragons alike.
Changelog:
- 4/3/17: Dragon Rider: Draconic Mount: Proficiency bonus is only added to the damage of melee attacks
- Dragon Rider: Fight as One: Dragon only gets its extra attack when it is being ridden as a mount
- Lesser Dragon: AC reduced to 13

2017-08-26 06:49:02 +0000 UTCQuick Q here, recent patron: There seems to be a 503 error I keep getting when clicking on PDF links like the one above. It might be because I'm on Mac, but is there any other place a Patron could access these exclusive PDFs?

2017-08-26 06:47:52 +0000 UTCThat's not the intent; it should expend that charge upon being used. I'll reword things to make that clearer

2017-04-04 17:41:23 +0000 UTCFor Dragon Staff, it's not spelled out if expending the energy causes the staff to become uncharged. Is the intent that you spend one spell slot to charge the staff, then can use that energy until you take a short or long rest? Because that seems a bit broken? :)

2017-04-02 15:13:49 +0000 UTCWhen I first heard of this, I though: What kind of subclasses could you make based on dragons? There can't be that much variation can there? As soon as I saw the "Dracolexi" dovakin Bard, I remembered: This is the Middle Finger of Vecna. They always find ways to out do themselves.

2017-04-02 15:13:05 +0000 UTCYeah, this thing has been a total chore to balance. There's quite a few things I can do to scale its power, but what I've been considering is removing it adding your proficiency bonus to damage. And you're right: the Fight as One feature probably needs some revising. Do you think I should directly use Coordinated Attack from the revised ranger, or try to do something different here?

2017-04-02 08:06:39 +0000 UTCI am concerned about the balance of the Dragon rider Ranger in general. What I'm seeing is basically Beast master but better, since you get a CR 1/2 creature with a fly speed and multiple devastating attack methods. Additionally, said beastmaster+ gets a better version of the revised ranger 5th level feature, as the companion can move before attacking.

2017-04-01 19:05:26 +0000 UTCThe dragon follows your commands, so it's generally under the control of the player. Of course, if the player character starts acting out of character, the dragon might refuse to follow orders.

2017-04-01 15:29:58 +0000 UTCQuick question, on the Dragonrider Ranger, does the player or the DM control the dragon? Sorry if I just didn't see that in the book.

2017-04-01 10:40:27 +0000 UTCMy intention was 'bow' as in to make bowed, though it's always possible I'm using that incorrectly.

2017-04-01 06:06:30 +0000 UTCLooks great so far - noticed a little typo on the first page though. It says "bow a creature" in the barbarian section, I think you meant "cow a creature" right? If not, then my bad
