I do quite like the fox features of Abra but it's also kind of otherworldly too. I guess that befits the archetypal psychic type, but it was also nice to make a callback to the old Abra sprite with one eye open, something you rarely ever saw in the anime.

Interesting choice. Most people don't go with a trade pokemon unless they have a way to trade for that last evolution.
