Struggling With YouTube/Work
Added 2019-06-09 15:21:30 +0000 UTCHey all, there is something that has been on my mind and bothering me for a long time that I would like to talk about. I feel like for the longest time I've been posting newsletters and my future video plans to all of you wonderful fans & patrons, yet I almost ALWAYS fail to meet my own goals.
I've reasoned my constant failure to meet deadlines with all manner of excuses:
"Quality over quantity."
"I'll work on this tomorrow, it's late and I'll be more productive then."
"I want to go out and do this activity because I can work on videos anytime."
"I'm having personal issues. I just moved into a new place. My ex girlfriend and I broke up."
I feel like breaking my arm was the best excuse for not meeting deadlines or working because it literally prevented me from doing so until a couple weeks ago. It just isn't fair to you guys; you who go out of your way to financially support the channel. It's not fair for me to tell you something is going to happen and then it doesn't.
What I'm trying to tell you all is I struggle with focusing on work, I struggle with consistency, I struggle with YouTube and I'm working to change my habits. BUT! All is not so doom and gloom because I always come out with videos eventually. And only once in the last 3+ years have a gone an entire 30 days without uploading.
I really needed to write this up to truly hold myself accountable. I need some more structure to my work because I will be spending a lot of time with someone I love, and I need to figure out how to balance love, life and responsibility.
I want to respond to messages on here faster and so I installed the patreon app on my phone! I'll have notifications on so anytime you message me it'll almost be like you're texting me. That should help in getting back to all of you in a timely manner.
As far as getting videos out on time, that is something I will think on while I work on them. How I can improve my efficiency and all that.
So yeah! Just felt like I needed to get that all out there, you know? Patreon and YouTube and all of you are such important parts of my life; I need to treat you all with equal love and care.
I will write my June Newsletter on Monday or Tuesday! See you all then and thank you for the support <3
