Floorwork Friday!

Hello! This is a video of what I *basically* just taught in an online class for Tantra Fitness! I teach every Friday at 7 pm and am donating my classes to Tantra to help support their business in these challenging times. I am in a slightly more ass tastic getup so this is available for patrons only 😉 for real though I might get in trouble on here if it’s public!


Please feel free to ask me any questions or get a break down on any of the movements in here! I love floor work so much and want you to love it too. It’s a wonderfully grounding thing to do for the body and soul, and we need lots of that these days.

With the shoulder stand, you’re just looking at core work (lots of oblique centred work, pilates and circus conditioning style is better than crunches) and a lot of repetition! I also find staying really active in my legs helps me feel more weightless. Try doing a wider straddle and really pointing your toes. When it comes to building flexibility, you want to be doing active flexibility work. I have an hour ish long workout on here that is active flex for the first half and gets into a bit more combo and passive stretch in the latter half. You want your body to have time to relax and release in passive but building the strength and end range of motion with active exercises is key!

Hi, do you have any tips for the shoulder stand? I can get into it, but I can only hold the position for a couple of seconds before I fall over. Also, do you have any stretching tips for the splits for people who are not naturally flexible? Thank you 😊.
