For Those Who Subscribe(d) Through the Apple IOS Patreon App
Added 2025-07-18 18:10:06 +0000 UTCSo I've noticed that there's been quite a bit more subscriptions through the Apple IOS app than in the past, and unfortunately, Apple has a policy that requires a hold on any funds that were acquired that way. They hold these funds for seventy five days. So for instance, if you subscribed this month, I will not be able to even touch that money for two months. For a creator who relies on access to these funds to you know....live, this is a huge pain for me.
There is a solution to this problem, which is to un-subscribe through the app, and then re-subscribe through the desktop website. You will still be able to access everything on the app once you've done so and signed back in, but it's the Apple Store policy that's really starting to screw over Patreon creators, and at this point, there's literally nothing I personally can do about it but wait, or ask that those of you who have subscribed via the Apple App to un-subscribe and then re-subscribe on the desktop site.
I know this is kind of a pain for those who are subscribed that way, and I'm not demanding that everyone who is to go do this, just trying to pull back the curtain a little bit and let you all know that Apple is doing it's Apple thing and once again making it hard for creators for no good goddamn reason.
