Ok, so, the idea of big ol' Sidon giving the listener a little gladiolus because it makes him think of them made my heart sing, so I wanted to use this audio opportunity to play out what I think that interaction would be like! I thought that the gladiolus flower is actually perfect for the Zora people, so I headcanoned that they have the same meanings! Also, I still haven't quite gotten the consistency with his voice since I've only done it twice now, but I hope you all still enjoy!

Well….yes….by the most simple terms it’s a…..flower…..

Well then, I suppose I’ll have to explain……

*chuckles nervously*

Forgive me…. It’s been quite a while since I’ve done this……I was a pup when I learned this myself.

*pause*

So….this flower….its called a gladiolus……

To the Zora…..it is a very important flower……

For the earliest Zora…..it was worn by our warriors….to help in winning our battles….and to help protect us from death……

That meaning evolved……into….gifting this flower to someone who you admire…..for their strength….as well as integrity…..

The things that you do, young Hylian…..are….incredible……I have seen how hard you work…..the sheer effort that you place within the hours of your daily life…..and while you might not see it yourself…..the way that you go about things, with honesty and with kindness……*huffs a laugh* I believe many people could learn a few things just by watching you…..

And you are honest with yourself as well…..acknowledging when things are difficult for you, setting boundaries when you don’t have the time or the ability to do something…..and also acknowledging when you need a break……those things aren’t easy….especially when faced with adverse responses….

You stand up for what you believe in…..and you fight for those who do not have it as good……and the gods know how much that is needed in this world……

So, ever since I have come to know you, I could think of no other honor than to bestow the Gladiolus onto you….

This flower also has come to mean…..faithfulness….amongst the Zora…..

When given to another……it represents the….loyalty we feel towards the one we give it to…..

That we would do most anything for this person……it shows our fealty…..our dedication……

I’m sure that you’re starting to get the picture now…..however….there is one…..more important--the most important truly--meaning…..behind the gladiolus…….

There is another saying…..for us Zora……when we give this flower….

And I suppose you can guess why I have been so nervous…..and why I saved its explanation for last……
