I am SAT for you to watch Miss Americana and I hope you love it, cannot wait for your thoughts. Another shorter thing that you can watch at any time (because it’s not tied to any musical era) is her speech when she was awarded an honorary doctorate degree from New York University - it’s amazing. Carole King, much like Taylor, is a singer/songwriter who got a contract with a record label when she was just a teenager. Carole has written so many famous songs that many big artists (such as the Shirelles) of the time sang. The difference between her and Taylor is Carole didn’t start performing herself until she was a bit older when she came out with her classic album Tapestry. When Taylor won artist of the decade at the American Music Awards in 2019 (please react to this during the Lover era!) Carole presented Taylor with the award. 🥰 At the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame one of the Taylor things you can see is Taylor’s outfit from this performance. Cowboy Like Me somehow has a special place for Taylor and Travis Kelce because when he used to be asked her favorite songs he always said Blank Space (Trav is a 1989 girlie) and So High School and The Alchemy (her two songs about him on TTPD). But the last time he said Cowboy Like Me and she played it at the last Eras show Travis was able to attend (Indy Night 2 - I was there!). Thank you so much for deep diving into Taylor, I appreciate it so much. Don’t let those other artists distract you *too much* from her because you have so much wonderful Taylor music to hear yet - I promise! ❤️

I say doing worry about the pressure that Swifties tend to put on reactors. It’s all out of live and enjoyment but I think it’s good to go at your pace and soak up each era as you like. It was their first show they opened on Eras and the reason why the crowd went crazy initially is because the set had changed and when we heard the sirens we knew it was gonna be HAIM and Taylor because she normally would sing tis the damn season!

She’s having fun in the performance, but I think she’s giving off mother/toddler “please behave yourself” vibes too. 😅 If you want to hear her singing some other covers there is one of her doing Can’t Stop Loving You by Phil Collins, and Riptide by Vance Joy. Vance Joy has done some great covers of her songs too!
