2025-03-10 15:04:04 +0000 UTCActually, I finally listened to the album with my really good headphones on my computer and it turns out Dem Jointz was one of the producers on "With The IE" as well (you can here the "Innnccoommiinngg" really faintly in the back around second 0:08 on the song) can't believe I missed it before lol Well that's three for three for me haha And found out it actually samples Jennifer Lopez's "Jenny from the Block" hence the name of the song. THAT CONNECTS SO MANY DOTS FOR ME. Okay, this song might be my fave production on the entire album for sure.

2025-03-09 04:21:22 +0000 UTCI like this album. She did surprise me with some of the sounds, but overall, I agree that it isn't a top album for me because I found the lyrics pretty generic as well. My top favourites are "ExtraL," "Filter," and "With The IE." I love "ExtraL" and "Filter," both because of the lyrics and the production. I like 'Filter" message because I am also someone who censors themselves a lot to please other people, and I always need reminding to not do that to myself anymore. I love the production on both songs because Dem Jointz produced both songs! You can tell by his producer tag, which is the "Innnnccccooommmiinngg" you hear at the beginning of both tracks. He has produced for Eminem, Rihanna, Kendrick Lamar, and Janet Jackson, just to name a few. In 2015 he started producing for the K-pop scene too, and he has now become a major producer for many K-pop artists. He is currently my all-time favourite producer. He has a foundation in Hip-Hop and R&B while mixing it with experimental electronic sounds. For "With the IE" the lyrics are kind of okay to me, but the production is BEAUTIFUL and reminds me heavily of a 90's Hip-Hop production. Takes me back! Can't wait to see how Jennie evolves from here!
