Taylor Swift - Haunted x Exile (Live in Edinburgh at The Eras Tour)

For my sneak peak into the Eras Tour from the Folklore era...I'm checking out Haunted x Exile live from Edinburgh. Now, I've read in my comments that there's another performance of this that might be better? It's hard to find these on YouTube, so if anyone has the link to I believe the (Los Angeles??) performance I would greatly appreciate it :)

Next up will be The Long Pond Studio Sessions film. Just trying to carve out some time for it. Thanks to everyone joining in on the conversation in the comments. It's been a lot of fun reading them all.

(I have more uploads coming, but patreon is being weird today. Gonna push through!)

Taylor Swift - Haunted x Exile (Live in Edinburgh at The Eras Tour)

Comments

Also, Taylor wrote all the songs on speak now by herself! Which is wild to me!

Holly (Taylor Smith)

I’m absolutely loving your journey through Taylor’s music! She’s so amazing, and the more you hear the more you will love.

KT

Getting through videos the last few days and I’m excited to see your journey to becoming a Swiftie. It’s the best community to be apart of, so full of love and acceptance. I hope you feel welcomed by us and thank you for being open and vulnerable with us.

Melissakay503

Not the original commenter, but we tried to predict what acoustic songs she’d perform, as well as what variations of her costumes she’d wear for each era. There’s an app that had a game called Mastermind where you’d make your guesses for each show lol it was so fun!

annabeth

The guitar and piano acoustics sets from the Eras Tour are amazing! From the Amsterdam concert, Taylor serenaded a combination of Mary’s Song (TS Encore), So High School (TTPD), and Everything Has Changed (Red TV), a love nod to a sobbing Travis who attended the show with the Mahomes and other friends. The ‘87’/‘89 reference is an hint to his KC number 87 and her album 1989. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=464yeBsebAY

Jacqueline Goon

Me again :) Since you've already heard TTPD and How Did It End? has been mentioned so many times here (it really is amazing), I just remembered we have quality recordings of some TTPD surprise songs as she released them during the promotion of the album. You can find a playlist here on YT: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gd8oWddNE8k&list=PLM2k3ZmOFjUWSnAQLPnsTSchu6Y5vp-Xo&index=4 How Did It End?, loml and Peter are just fantastic, if you wanna check them out, the crowd also did an amazing job on all of these :) Except for I Hate It Here x The Lakes (amaaazing btw, one of my all time favorites), I would stay away from the mashups from this playlist tho, since the other songs are from albums you haven't heard yet.

monika

Soon You'll Get Better from Lover album, It's about her mom getting cancer and she has performed it once for The Global Citizen Covid Benefit show. But she has talked about how difficult it was to record this for the album and she can't sing it without getting emotional. Ronan from Red album. Taylor came across a blog written by the mom of a 4 year old boy who died of cancer. She wrote a song as a tribute to the child and gave writing credits to the mom. She performed it once in 2012 for a cancer benefit show and one other time during her 1989 tour when the mom had come to see that show. Forever Winter also from Red, it is alleged to be about Taylor's friend who died of suicide. There's a couple more but these three she is not likely to perform at a tour live

Aastha Sharma

Understandable. If she ever feels comfortable breaking them out, they’ll be there for her. Do you know what songs?

Daniel Juke

It’s been an emotional week on Juke Jams 😭 I’m glad you’re enjoying the reactions. I’m super excited for Long Pond. I think I’m watching it this weekend 💙

Daniel Juke

I had a feeling she was very hands on. Seeing her play her own instruments made me realize that lol I keep reading Haunted is a favorite! Im excited to hear that studio version The goosebumps wouldn’t leave 😂 Thanks Isabella! Appreciate all your help and support. The documents have been awesome 🙌

Daniel Juke

I hope you’re doing better 💙

Daniel Juke

😂

Daniel Juke

Favorite snack?

Daniel Juke

Will do! Thanks 😊

Daniel Juke

I added How Did It End to my list :) Thank you!!

Daniel Juke

Yeah I can feel it all with her. She has a great way of tapping into her music and making it more than just a song but an experience. Very few can do that. I’m really loving this journey and I’m only 3 albums in lol. She’s a special artist. Thanks Aastha!

Daniel Juke

Thanks Maggie! Let me add this one to my list :)

Daniel Juke

📝 writing it down!

Daniel Juke

Thank you!

Daniel Juke

Very excited to hear it in that form 🔥

Daniel Juke

Sounds like a tear jerker for me haha

Daniel Juke

I’m excited for that movie 🍿 it’ll be a little while though lol

Daniel Juke

Thanks JoAnn!! 💙

Daniel Juke

👏

Daniel Juke

She had y’all watching every night! That’s powerful. Were you ever able to predict what she would perform?

Daniel Juke

Epic!!!! I was London N6 when she did ‘I did something bad’ for the first time acoustic…I died! Wembley roared!!!!!

Anj Robinson

It’s from the anthology side of TTPD, so you have reacted to it. I loooooove the studio version but this live performance is absolutely stunning. Hope you react at some point to it 🫶🏻

Anj Robinson

After your done with Evermore you should do her 2021 Grammys performance

Breanna M

She played all of her songs on the tour with the exception of a couple that she does not play live because they are too emotional.

Maggie

We will get you there all in due time sir😂

Evgenia

Can’t wait for your reaction to the other “exile, ft the crowd”

Jessica Martin

Ohmygosh. You made me cry when you got emotional to peace and now you made me cry getting emotional to this 🥹 Love your reactions! 🩷🩷 Exile in long pond is my favorite version of the song can’t wait for you to hear it!

Isabel

Thank you for looking it up and sharing, I think you are right! 🙂‍↕️

monika

i just found it, it was Out Of The Woods :)

anfilias

I also forgot this in the document but Taylor surprised fans on a bon iver concert and they sang this song together. https://youtu.be/jF9TjNpeH6U?si=M5Lf_6pzp7XhP-XH

Isabella Peterson

I included the tiny desk into the Lover document, i will send it to you after evermore. Its after that album release so mostly songs from that era. Taylor has a part of her production for most of her songs too. She is always very involved. And most of them she also wrote on piano or guitar before going into the studio. Haunted is one of my top songs and this mashup is incredible. The swiftie crowds are always amazing too. Every song she plays as a surprise song even if its 18 years old its a sing a long where we know all the songs. Amazing reaction as always. You just make me smile every time friend🫶🏻 and we all had those goosebumps every night she played something new

Isabella Peterson

EXACTLY it lol

Daniel Juke

It's the Ohio winter doing its thing. I've been the same way lately, getting emotional over the smallest things. I'm ready for Spring!!

Cynthia Long

This is just so special gets me every time. I couldn't go to the tour because of health reasons. But I've been a Swiftie since Debut, so I watched almost all the live streams. Man what a time.

Ilka van Schalkwyk

"I am sure Haunted is probably a big song as well" oh Sir just wait until you react to her performing it at the Speak Now tour

monika

Long Pond is definitely a blanket, cocoa and snacks kinda vibe - it’s a chill time

Liam Mcfarlane

I am 90% sure it was “I wish you would” (but I could be remembering it wrong)

monika

Was it "Out Of The Woods" ?

anfilias

Exactly. That is what her music creating process looks like, almost all songs start out on a piano or a guitar with melodies and lyrics coming to her, then she takes them to the producers she collaborates with. Very often she also already has quite detailed production in mind. You will see a bit of this creating process in the Miss Americana documentary, and she also has a few "Making of a song" videos for her prior stuff that I would 100% recommend, when you get there! Seeing her creating fantastic songs from scratch is just so amazing to witness! Besides one song from the 1989 album, folklore album was only the second time she wrote to track.

monika

They were so crazy I think was trying not to cry 😂

Abi Pilmer

Another great reaction!! Keep ‘em coming! 😁

Danielle

Yeah. Nowadays even more so than at the beggining of her career of course, but that was always something she strived for

anfilias

If we are diving into eras tour acoustic versions, I stronglyyyyy recommend watching some of her ttpd songs!!! Loml and How Did It End from the eras tour are INCREDIBLE!! Loved this reaction!!! 🩷🩷

Brianna

I second this! It’s one of my favorite mashups. I would also recommend Cassandra x mad woman x I did something bad.

malb901

It's the Taylor Swift effect you're feeling!!! She makes you get in touch with your emotions and feel everything deeply. You're in for an exciting journey and you're doing a great job breaking down the songs. It's quite difficult to pick up on all the little details on the first listen without knowing the Tay lore, and we are more than happy to share everything with you.

Aastha Sharma

Great reaction! I hadn’t seen this and it was SO good. If you’re up for another surprise song from the eras tour, “How Did it End,” from TTPD is incredible. https://youtu.be/VahjXNE1mSA?si=5f01dss16z8ztMjK

Maggie

Taylor came out at a Bon Iver concert to do exile in London in 2022! Definitely worth a watch

rit

to find any of her other live performances, this link has info on when she played each song! it's sorted by album, but the mashups have their own section so if you're looking for a particular song i'd just ctrl+f to see if there are any mashups with other songs that you've heard so far. it looks like some are linked to tiktok videos, but you can also search in youtube something like "song name live, city name" and you should be able to find a solid video of that specific performance https://erastour.live/

ash212

She kind of did it as a fuck you to all the people who suggested she may not be pulling her weight when had co-writers so she was like I’ll show you and released speak now with only self written songs.

Loren

I believe it also has All too well from red but 3/4 are from Lover.

Loren

I’m not sure if someone mentioned it already but the arrangement of Haunted on speak now is very different than this, closer to pop rock I’d say so you’ll still be in for a surprise when you listen to the original on the album!

Loren

also since you said you're planning on doing bits of eras live performances around your album reaction journey - most fans will recommend mashups like this because they're beautiful and were the most hyped part of the back half of the tour, but for the entire US leg in 2023 she did individual songs (one on guitar and one on piano). I'm biased, but the evermore performance on piano is one of the most gorgeous live performances of her career. the entire crowd goes quiet, it's just her voice and the piano, and she sings the entire bridge solo (the recorded version is with bon iver). and it was in cincinnati! (i think you said something about being from ohio but forgive me if i'm misremembering lol)

ash212

this is kind of niche but i'm so excited for your eventual eras tour movie reaction for the opening to the red era. i'm a sucker for crowd singing moments and that one is without taylor even being on stage - just the audience for a few seconds

ash212

Very good to know. So she constructs the song from bottom up and then goes into a creative process with her producers to basically polish and complete them? I think doing it that way keeps a personal edge to the music. So cool. I know I'll be seeing this in Long Pond. Coming soon :)

Daniel Juke

That's a great recommendation. From now on I'll try to stay off the Eras tour if possible!

Daniel Juke

I can only imagine the in-person goosebumps experienced during that part of your show. That's great to know about Red for the Tiny Desk. I'll push that back further. Can't wait for Long Pond :)

Daniel Juke

The title just sounds sad ugh 💙

Daniel Juke

Wow! Idk those songs by Taylor yet, but I do know Ed and his. That is definitely an incredible surprise!

Daniel Juke

They made this heat as their 1st collab? wow. 👏

Daniel Juke

Yes can’t wait for you to get to know those songs !

Laurasr618

I love when a new version of a song gives me a fresh perspective. There's many live performances I can think of that do the same for me that you experience with her acoustic version. Music is awesome lol

Daniel Juke

soon enough :)

Daniel Juke

ahhh thank you!

Daniel Juke

Great idea!!

Daniel Juke

On the list :) I'm having a lot of fun too!

Daniel Juke

I can't wait either! Thanks :)

Daniel Juke

oh I would like to check that out! I was wondering if they had a live version together. Thanks!

Daniel Juke

The fact I was even able to hear the crowd the way I was is a testament of what it ACTUALLY sounded like. That's crazy lol

Daniel Juke

WOW! You guys were incredible! Lucky you :)

Daniel Juke

We're the goosebumps crazy in person??

Daniel Juke

Thanks Ryan!

Daniel Juke

That is great to know! So that piano is legendary in it's own right. Like it's own character to her shows. So cool :)

Daniel Juke

You are so genuine!! You are quickly becoming my favorite reactor!!!

JoAnn Burrage

That is so young to be putting out complete self written material. That is gonna be fun. And noted!

Daniel Juke

Okay :)

Daniel Juke

Thank you!

Daniel Juke

This all sounds so exciting! Sounds like a fun era :)

Daniel Juke

Taylor Swift wrote all the songs on Speak Now by herself just to prove her critics wrong that she couldn’t write!

JoAnn Burrage

If you were impressed by this mashup, you ain’t seen nothing yet! This is what made our night’s exciting, watching the grainy lives, because we’d be awaiting her surprise song set to see what songs she’d mash up tougher, which we knew could potentially serve as an “egg…”

Sonny S.

You fed the Swifties today, thank you😂🫶🏻

The Only Larissa🩷🌸🪩

Oh, in regards to producer. Taylor usually has lyrics and composition already kind of thought through when she gets to production. If memory does not fail me I think there's a song with Jack that was the first time she wrote to track, but I can't recall which...i think Jack's was the first track and then lyrics. I do know that the one she did that a lot after was Aaron Dessner. Aaron is part of the band The National so he composes a lot; and for folklore and evermore it happened a few times he sending a track to Taylor and then she would write the lyrics. Aaron Dessner is the biggest chunk in her career of writting to someone's already composed track

anfilias

Sir Juke !! yeah, I understand why people wanted this one because the crowd did the add-libs of the song and it was really awesome. They understood the assignement! I would, however, keep away from ERAS TOUR performances. I think it would be more interesting to look at performances during the time of the respective tours of each album and keep ERAS tour a whole other thing. Because it kind of is a whole other thing. Now, granted, Midnights only has performances during the ERAS tour. As well, as TTPD, but you will only have those in fan recordings with not great quality. folklore you have the long pond session so that's cool. evermore unfortunately, aside from ERAS only has a Grammy 2021 mashup of cardigan/august/willow but hey, it's somehting hahaha. Well, do what you feel, but there is SOOOOOO many things to react once you get to LOVER (2019) and everything prior, that you can breath a little :+) a let things breed. it's a lot of songs. a lot of story. a lot of everything. It's over 18 years of a person's life after all :P

anfilias

I'm so grateful to have gotten Exile as one of my surprise songs! Exile feat the crowd will always be iconic. For Tiny Desk, it came out during the Lover era but she sings a (very important) song from Red so maybe wait to watch it till after reacting to both Red and Lover. The studio version of Haunted is very different so should still be a great reaction when you get to Speak Now. Also with your questions of Aaron and who's on piano, you'll get a lot of answers with Long Pond. But also Folklore is the first time she ever worked with Aaron, and Speak Now (her 3rd album) is entirely self written.

Talia Adams

The crowd singing the Bon Iver part going back and forth with her literally shatters me when I hear it. I wanted exile as a surprise song SO bad!! I saw her sing it on a grainy livestream during night 1 in Indianapolis literally while I was on my way there to see her night 2 😭

Krista Grigsby

My personal favourite surprise song she did was How Did End in Stockholm…cry every time I watch it🫶🏻

Anj Robinson

I was praaaaying for exile as my surprise song!! But I cant complain since I got Ed Sheeran himself for an insane mashup of Everything has changed (off Red), End Game (off Reputation) and Ed’s Thinking out Loud.

Evgenia

Folklore is Taylor/Aaron Dessner's first collaboration (you'll learn more when you watch Long Pond). Taylor writes (and has since the beginning) a lot of her music on piano/guitar first before it is produced!

jry

Love ur reaction🥰 Haunted is not my fave from sn album but her way singing acoustic make me love and appreciate that song more. There’s many mash up she done that can blow u away. Her creativity is crazy. You should watch this is me trying x labyrinth. It’s so beautiful. You can see from that performance how much she love Travis.

Shafiq

I Hate It Here x The Lakes mashup is such an incredible, seamless mashup as well. The non-video one on YT is great quality. You’d only recognize the transitions as a new fan by the crowd screaming.

M

oh man i’m desperate for you to see the eras tour movie, long pond, and miss americana 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩

madison

love it❤️❤️❤️

whenwen

Loving your reactions! Also just fyi Bon Iver is pronounced like "bone eve-air"

Eva Warwick

i just CANT wait for long pond 😼🥹🥹 get that blanket ready, the goosebumps are gonna be intense for that one…

Leonie Thieme

This gives me chills every single time

monika

You are doing amazing Juke!! CAN’T WAIT for your Long Pond reaction, you are gonna absolutely love it! 🤩 Better get that blanket for those goosebumps ready until then :)

monika

great reaction! loved it

Andrea Di Lorenzo

Pleeaaase watch the Exile performance from LA, it’s even better than this one imo🫶🏼

Leonie Thieme

here are some options for the performance of exile from an earlier eras show, i think this was the first time she performed exile on the acoustic set as a surprise song and people went CRAZYYYY :‘) : youtube: the second half of the video is exile on piano, !! you’ll have to skip forward until she sits down on the piano https://youtu.be/afgZRrF4qHU?si=alH8X65KojCVskoh https://vm.tiktok.com/ZNdeJqanc/ https://vm.tiktok.com/ZNdeJ4Mnd/

Leonie Thieme

You are doing great!! We are having so much fun watching you learn everything!! You’ll definitely have to watch miss americana her documentary too! You’ll learn so much about her!!

Amber

💙💙

reveluvred8

I love your Taylor reactions so much!! I can't wait to see the Long Pond reaction!

MM

That's so cool. She's so good at ad libbing when things go wrong!

Cora

Great reaction!

Pam Delpapa

She performed Exile live with Bon Iver at his show in London if you want to check that out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jF9TjNpeH6U

Brieanne

I remember hearing that song on a livestream. I think the video you watched didn't quite capture how loud the crowd was during Exile, though. It was something else. I can only imagine how wonderful it was to be in the crowd at that show. I have a feeling that you're not ready for Speak Now 😁 Taylor was 19-20 when she wrote that album. She was feisty 😁

malb901

That’s amazing !! You basically got 4 surprise songs! Somehow she always has some sort of problem when she tours my city. When I went to rep tour , her lift got stuck when she was singing delicate, and she a cappella, saying Wildest Dreams and Our Song

Laurasr618

You did get Taywarrior though☺️

Cora

Lmao! Yes, it was so awesome. It was my daughter's 22nd birthday. We also at outside the stadium the in night 2 after we had dinner nearby. We heard the bolter and getaway car!

Cora

It was rare, you were there. I’m so jealous! I was at the hey stop bad blood show but that’s not the same lmao

Laurasr618

This was my Eras Tour show, so I got to duet with Taylor 🫶🏻

Cora

She also was not working with Aaron or Jack at the time ! She started working with Jack around 1989 era a little bit but really started with him during reputation. Aaron came during folklore ! You’ll hear them talk about this in Long pond!!

Laurasr618

Love this mashup so much but that might just be because I was in the audience so I’m biased

Abi Pilmer

Tiny desk is definitely lover era!

Ryan Kelleher

just fyi: whenever you see her sitting at that flower piano with the colorful dresses or with her guitar, she is performing the acoustic section/ surprise song section she did for every single eras show!! in the beginning of the tour she did one song on guitar and one on piano. as the tour continued, she started doing INSANE mashups like these to keep things a lil more interesting.. definitely keep reaching to these mashups, as they are not part of the eras tour movie of course!! they are so so great and intimate, her live voice is incredible!

Leonie Thieme

great reaction as always!! 🥹 haunted is a fan-favorite from speak now, i have a feeling you’ll love this album.. it is ENTIRELY self written by tay, she was 18-20 when she wrote it and it’s just so raw and honest, as the title suggests ;) once you get to that era: definitely do not miss out on the live performance of “dear john” from the speak now world tour :’) (you can add that to your list already;))

Leonie Thieme

Juke, please watch exile live in LA. She sang the entire song and it’s better than this version

SoCalJku

Also to save you some time her tiny desk performance is from the lover era !!

Laurasr618

She also wrote it all by herself from ages 19 to 20 because people didn’t believe that she held her weight in the writers room and she wanted to prove them wrong… that’s a theme in her career… doing things out of spite and taking risks and most of them working out for her

Laurasr618

Yes omg I can’t wait for when u get to speak now !! It’s got a little more pop rock influence and a few amazing orchestra moments!!

Laurasr618

This is actually from the acoustic section of the show just so you know not the folklore section. She played 2 to 4 songs depending on mash ups and she tried to switch it up every show! Excited to watch this after work!

Baillie Williams

The best crowd that sang exile *with* Taylor. Thank you for choosing this one!

Cooler Fan

Wooo! Hoped you’d react to this! Love from the uk! 🇬🇧
