Lady Gaga - JOANNE (deluxe) FIRST TIME REACTION

Surprise friends!! My next album reaction in the deep dive of Lady Gaga is JOANNE the deluxe version. Somehow, some way, this reaction ended up being even more personal and vulnerable than the A Star Is Born video... she's unbelievable. Lady Gaga is another amazing human being I'm getting to know through this channel. Wow 💙

Lady Gaga - JOANNE (deluxe) FIRST TIME REACTION

Comments

1. Album context: Lady Gaga’s real name is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta. She was given the middle name “Joanne” in honor of her late aunt—her father’s only sibling—who passed away from lupus at a young age, before Gaga was even born. Gaga has shared that she’s always felt a deep spiritual connection to her aunt, as if Joanne lives through her. This album was heavily inspired by that connection, as well as Gaga’s belief that her father was never the same after losing his sister. During her Mayhem era she has just expressed how she wanted to strip down and connect with her roots, but she had never felt so lost. "John Wayne" is inspired by her dad and her love for wild men. "Perfect Illusion" was indeed the lead single! I believe they released it first because her previous solo album had been ARTPOP—and, well, we all know how that era was received, lol. After ARTPOP, she put out a jazz album with Tony Bennett before returning to solo work with Joanne. "Perfect Illusion" kicked off that era as the lead. Originally, "A-Yo" was intended to be the second single, but "Million Reasons" ended up taking its place. It might've been after she performed both songs on SNL and people just connected better with Million Reasons. "John Wayne" wasn’t officially released as a single, but Gaga dropped the music video as a gift to her Monsters. Lastly, the piano version of "Joanne" was released as the final single from the album." Before she released the album she was doing a Dive Bar Tour in collaboration with Bud Light. She performed in 3 bars during this promotional tour and she let us hear the songs she would release. The first show was 4 songs, the second show was 6 songs, and on the last show she performed 7 songs. I fell in love with John Wayne and Sinner's Prayer from the first listen! Come To Mama is beautiful tbh. PS: Gaga did write songs for other singers but we'll talk about this once you get to The Fame era. PSS: You got this bro! Sending you a huge hug.

Juan Barrera

Oh Sonja, we miss you dearly 🤍🙏🏻🕊️ (Grigio Girls)

Definitely watch the Gaga documentary on Netflix Five Food Two it’s amazing it’s about the process of making this album and her journey to the halftime show

Jesse Nemick

I’ll take my hat to watch this one

Junior Doná

Gaga released a song called “The Cure” a year after “Joanne”. It’s a really good song to react to…

Terrance Ford

I am so sorry for your loss. You are so strong. Sending you so much love!

Daniel Juke

Thanks RC 💙 you can consider me a friend. And I also plan on watching the documentary :)

Daniel Juke

Thanks Lewis 💙

Daniel Juke

Thank you again for being kind Harrison! I'm getting more used to opening up about these topics as the days go on. Slowly finding my voice in this journey. I totally agree with everything you said. Working on it 💙 Well let's hope music continues to exist because I still have plenty of albums and live performances to get through lmao. Appreciate you

Daniel Juke

Hi George! Sorry to hear about your family's history with cancer. I hope your brother remains in good health and that your family can find some peace. Thank you so much for the kind message 💙

Daniel Juke

Helplessness is the worst. You won't catch me standing around lol. I'm happy you're able to find some great meaning in her music too.

Daniel Juke

I listened to it 3 or 4 times today! It’s been in my head since.

Michael Hardwick

There's definitely a great deal of work to this, but I promise you I'm fully enjoying it! I'm gonna spend time with family this weekend :) Lmao Yeah that's mind blowing but I'd imagine it helped putting her energy into art during that time. Yeah I just gotta let it out. This Gaga journey has been cathartic. Heavy. And thanks friend. Trying to cherish every moment with them. And haha thank you for making it light :)

Daniel Juke

Appreciate you. I will!

Daniel Juke

This was added to the list I shared across to Juke for the Joanne era.

Michael Hardwick

React to Joanne (piano version) it’s even better

Kel Fulgencio

Prayers for your grandma. And yes, despite Joanne (song) being about her aunt, it is still very relatable. My niece passed away not too long ago and I think of her every time this song comes on. As a Gaga fan from the beginning, she tends to say that songs aren’t about someone. But they truly are as a super fan speculating. John Wayne, Perfect Illusion, Million Reasons and Just Another Day are about Taylor Kinney. It only makes sense. Haha

Alan

I knoooooowwww!! Ever since it happened, it's been one of my favorite piano performances of her.

George

Juke will be reacting to the Super Bowl performance, after watching the Five Foot Two doc.

Michael Hardwick

I'd actually missed this performance off my Joanne list entirely. It's a real emotional performance, so Juke has my full approval to react to it! Why isn't this performance more known about!

Michael Hardwick

This will be something Juke reacts to during his Joanne deep-dive. On the priority list.

Michael Hardwick

This will be apart of the Joanne deep-dive.

Michael Hardwick

You should react to “Gaga five foot two” it’s on Netflix. You’ll love it

Kel Fulgencio

Wow, I’m crying 😭 I’m so sorry for your grandma🫶🏻 I apreciate your openness and thank you for sharing your experiences and your thoughts. It feels like I’m listening to a friend talk. By the way I loved this reaction and I agree with everything you said. And if you want to know more about this album and the process behind it there’s the documentary “Gaga five foot two” that is a very deep dive in the process (in the studio with Mark Ronson and blood pop). There’s music, there are emotions… it’s very good to even get to know Gaga a little more.

R C

Such a beautiful reaction to this album loved it 🩷

Lewis

Highly recommend checking out Lady Gaga’s interview with Martin Luther King Jr’s daughter Bernice A. King ❤️ https://www.youtube.com/live/eWMKZIWDTbY?si=crx43Jfi0w9r61Km

🧿

Dannyyyy, you are allowed to show your emotions, mention politics, and also crying is healthy - always be yourself, we wouldn’t be here supporting you if we didn’t love every single aspect of your personality ❤️ P.S. - I think we would lowkey eat-up content about your views on different things or about you and your life story, like should music somehow cease to exist tomorrow we would still be right here anxiously awaiting your next message/upload : )

Harrison Hall

You’ve got watch her documentary from around when she was recording this album. It’s called Five Foot Two! It’s incredible

Trevin Stephenson

BTW, from this era I think you’ll appreciate this performance https://youtu.be/ThRrg6Tu6w4?si=L01MJbsNTd65wuJI

George

Haven’t finished watching the video but I had to send you this message. Cancer has been something that my family on my mother’s side has dealt with for decades and we’ve lost some people. The closest case was my brother and thankfully he’s been in remission for some years. I send you and your family only good thoughts and know that though we don’t know each other, there’s some one here thinking about them and sending them all the love ❤️ I’m sure they’re grateful to have you. Thank you for sharing and opening your heart.

George

1. I had the same reaction to Come To Mama when I first heard it and I feel like 9 years later I'm still reacting the same way. Vocally it's perfect and the message is simple yet super layered and effective *chef kiss* welcome to the club 🥹 2. Highly relatable re: getting in trouble defending yourself and others lol I've been that way all my life and I don't enjoy fighting physically or even verbally...but fear and helplessness feels so much worse to me

Kayla

Love it! You should react to her superbowl performance. It was on this era and album cycle. Its so good!

David

First of all, thanks for working overtime to get these videos out. Please don’t burn yourself out though! Don’t be afraid to take time away whenever you need. We’ll understand. Never thought I’d say this sentence, but Dancin’ In Circles is the coolest song about masturbating I’ve ever heard. 😂 I’ll never understand how she was able to film the scene where she sings “I’ll Never Love Again” in A Star Is Born RIGHT after finding out Sonja lost her battle to cancer. Danny, as long as you keep apologizing for crying and getting political, I will keep begging you not to! Keep letting it all out like you did here! It’s what Gaga would want. Especially when you’re sharing harsh truths like “All presidents are war criminals”. You’ve created a safe space for us, and we want you to take advantage of it too! I’m so sorry about your grandparents, btw. ❤️ Your integrity & consideration are admirable. It’s why I keep coming back… and because you’re hot. Sorry not sorry. I had to end this on a lighter note. 😂

Dennis Roberts

Stay strong brother 🫶🏼 for your grandma

Amine Castor

You’re on fire with the reactions tonight!
