For a 23rd time, it's devlog time! :>
This time round' I focused on coloring. I finished about 70 more illustrations.. A decent number, though quite a bit short of my rough goal of finishing 5 per day.. :/
I completed 2 of the larger scenes this month and I think I'll try to tackle the largest scene next.
You can see some of the this months work above. Each drawing is a different location/setting.
It's been interesting dealing my shading style and how I constantly want to change it. Some days it's simple and easy and just works and other days it becomes a bit weirder and more difficult with a lot of random geometric shapes that I can't really explain. :P
Having a shading style that is so simple is both a blessing and a curse.. It's nice because I have a good understanding of it and I can work very quickly compared to someone with a more in depth complicated style.. but sometimes it's difficult to make something look good when you have only one layer of simple shadow and some highlights. It can be challenging to show exactly what is going on in the image, especially when you're in a low light or high light scenario. These are the types of things I'm learning about my style during this project, but I'm doing my best and I think most of what I'm making looking pretty decent. :>
