Greenhouse Devlog 7/23/24 - Dreamy Eyes

Heyo! πŸ‘‹

Work has been going pretty well on greenhouse, if a bit slower than usual. This summer has been pretty hot. Like really hot.. Particularly these last few weeks have been 100f/48c+ and I don't have AC. :|

It can make working a little tougher when you're absolutely roasting.

Luckily it seems like the last of the really hot temps are this week, thank goodness. :))

I'm currently still working on the scenes, writing and sketching each of them one by one. I'm trying to make each scene unique and feel different. It's important that each scene has its own special "thing" about it. Sometimes a particular kink, sometimes a feeling. This is something I've been aiming to do since I first started greenhouse.

I'm keeping things fresh by changing up my art styles when the scene permits. For instance, in the scene above.. Well, I won't spoil anything but things get a little weird.

Being on the last chapter has got me thinking about what I'm going to be doing after I finish Greenhouse. I realized I don't really know for sure what I'm going to be doing.. I'm definitely going to be doing other games but I don't know if I'll want to work on another huge project right after this one. I've thought about taking some time to improve my art style into something I could be more proud of. I'll definitely do something like that. I've always wanted to make a bunch of comms for people, maybe I could do some of that.. I feel like that could definitely help improve my art. I'd also like to get back into animating.

Ideally my next big game won't be nearly as big as GH.. Over a year working on the same thing is nice stability but it can also drive ya crazy. I'll probably try doing some smaller stuff. I have several ideas already, some big and some small.

Later!

Yeah, lighting is pretty big for sure. It'll take some tinkering for me to find something I like better. Right now I'm just using a layer of multiply for most things

I hope you having a goof week ^-^ I do agree working on commissions can REALLY help ya improve on art. One point I try my best to improve, and that makes a world of difference is lighting! As a personal advice in art I do recommend using two layers of lighting and shadows, one on bottom with the overlay setting so it is colored by sampling the colors bellow and another one on top with normal setting so you can balance the white(or black in the case of shadows) and colored lighting/shadows so it looks how you like ^-^ Sorry for long message!
