EDIT: You can hear a small wood clatter when the sex scene is about to begin. This is my character dropping his torch, which then promptly goes out, hence the absence of the effect from that point forward.
EDIT 2: The ending is open to interpretation. I would not say that it is definitively snuff, but it is likely a poor result for the performer.
