Radiant Star Overture Month 8 & 9 Recap

Here are the last two recaps in one! These last two months were quite challenging for me, even though they were not the flashiest.

Menu March

Most of all my work during March went into reworking the game menu systems to work with Unreal's new CommonUI framework. The goal was to offer a better experience and feedback in menu navigation both on Mouse and Keyboard as well as Gamepad and it should make it easier to implement the missing menus going forward.

By the end of the month, I managed to implement the phone menu. This menu is going to be how the player interact with generic but more complex objects, such as shops. it's a versatile little tool that can also run its own apps. Apps can be made to perform many different tasks anywhere in the world without stopping the game or taking control away from the player. Right now only the VEC and the Sandbox APP are available on the Sandbox mode.

SizeCon April

In the month of April, I attended SizeCon[Micro] as a "Vendor" to show the game off. SizeCon is an online size kink convention run on Gather.

So in preparation for the Con I worked on balancing the game while polishing the AI a bit. I also set up a website for the first time in my life, which you can check here. The site happens to come with a blog, which I will use to post these development recaps going forward, as Patreon does not allow me to do public posts containing nudity.

Up Next

In these last few days, I have just started working on revamping The "weapons" and melee systems. I hope to allow for more varied guns, melee weapons, as well as non-combat tools.
