BONUS: Fight for Fremantle ft. Amy Warne & Kate Hulett

Eighth up in our series of bonus episodes interviewing candidates for the upcoming federal election, Emerald meets two of the progressive candidates vying for the seat of Fremantle in Western Australia.

First up is Amy Warne, environmental activist, mum and Greens candidate! (1:44) And then Kate Hulett, photographer, business owner and independent candidate! (28:33)

Are indies and teals just faux-Greens who waste valuable resources splitting the vote and campaigners? Meanwhile, is the Greens brand so tainted that potential voters will stay away? How can the the left work together to keep Dutton out and stand up to Labor? Does a rising tide lift all boats?

Comments

Did Amy say Freo had never had a state or Federal Greens MP? I know the Adele Carles incumbency was frightfully embarrassing, but you can’t just erase it from history.

Tony Hickey

I would have appreciated a question from Emerald about Climate 200, honestly

Jack

Typical goddam teal - doesn’t want to do the work necessary to be part of a movement but happy to be lifted up by climate 200

Grant O'Leary

The Greens started with Senators, which relies on a state wide vote. Instead the teals have concentrated campaigning resources on specific seats, which have a geographically constrained tipping point.

Is it Cath
