Voting Census

So, we had some interesting voting interactions with the latest poll. Considering that the pieces with the most and least amount of votes were going to win, it was clear there was a strategy to vote for other pieces as a way of eliminating them from being the bottom pick. There's nothing wrong with that at all, that was an anticipated and legitimate strategy. I'll think of other fun variations for us to play with in the future.

I'm curious what the ratio of votes was for people who voted for what they wanted to see versus people using a vote to eliminate other pieces.

The engagement on the poll was very high and I'd hate to think there was any kind of unfairness to it. The number of votes cast was about ten times the number of my patrons, which seems a little odd. I may be overthinking it, however, leaving the poll open to the public creates a way that the votes can be manipulated with numerous alt accounts casting votes. As far as I know, impossible to prove anything of the sort.

So, I just wanted to put up a quick poll to see how people voted. Let me know your thoughts in the comments. Should we close these votes to just patrons in the future or does keeping them public have merits?

im a bit annoyed that the koichi one didn't wiun but im still gonna enjoy seeing the dbz and kill la kill art

DEMOCRACY IN ROOINS. Haha, there's no incentive to gaming this poll...... yet?

The poll was open to the public, so one wouldn't need to be a patron to cast a vote. It had like 550 votes, while the number of patrons remained 60.

I would consider becoming a patron if there were monthly sketch polls/ request posts that were patron exclusive. It would make it feel more fair at least.

I agree. My choice was actually the bottom vote for the first half until all of a suddenly everything got 30 extra votes except for the DBZ choice. Since there were such a bias for the DBZ choice I feel that it was one person who made a bunch of alt accounts to vote against everything except DBZ. It even was like this before the post on 4chan. I feel like that person was at least trying to get more votes in to “rebalance” the poll. You gotta admit it’s pretty suspicious that there was such a large gap for the bottom vote and everything else and all of the middle choices had very similar numbers.

The poll was open to the public and some clown on 4chan posted a link to it and taught people how to cheat the system. That being said, as a fellow creator of content, if you let people have as many votes as they want instead of just one (I voted for Kill La Kill obviously since the idea for it is basically the story I wrote years ago.and DBZ since I love Bulma). So, you had a perfect storm; 4chan interference, Patrons literally able to vote for all options, poll open to ANYONE. Again, I'm not unhappy with the results, just letting you know why some options that had only two votes, two days ago, went up to 49 or 50 in literally a few hours.

Well the poll had 12 choices and the format incentivized voting for as many options as possible which can explain the voting numbers. Alt accounts would only be a problem if you suddenly got a massive influx of patrons after announcing the poll wouldn't it?

Scrubdown

But what if THIS poll gets rigged???
