You can do whatever you want as long as you state the rules ahead of time so no one gets their feelings hurt. The people who wanted Pregnant Sarah at the Altar might not be happy if you suddenly limited it to two Sarahs after the vote.

2020-07-13 00:47:46 +0000 UTCA Runoff is an additional round of voting featuring a subset of the candidates. Traditionally you eliminate the poor performers to let their supporters vote amongst candidates who have a chance. In this case it is more like the run-offs for Baseball All-Star teams where you vote amongst the candidates who almost made it for the final spot. You would lock in the top two vote getters then for the final spot you would feature candidates who didn't win. In this case we would have voted amongst non-Sarah/Veronica candidates. In times where there are several of these, you may also eliminate the ones who got very few votes. If the top 3 vote getters are varied, you don't need another round. Basically I meant an extra round of voting for the final slot where you pick the candidates to ensure characters with smaller fan bases get a chance. But you could also do this by adjusting the rules month to month to limit how many Sarahs or Veronicas can win (a good performing third place idea could be used again in a later month), or by making the next month a No-Sarah month (tell people before the nominations so they don't waste their favorite ideas.)

I personally think it'd take too long to do this month, though. Maybe in the future, say you'll do one Veronica, one Sarah, one Side character pic a month? Or some similar apportionment, even if it changes month to month based on a theme or whoever you feel most like drawing at the time. You've also been doing a good job of merging pic ideas so two characters appear in one, so continuing to do that where you can could free things up.
