In the end I underestimated the number of renders required (as usual!), so it took a day longer than I expected, but 0.5 is now complete. Download links can be found at the bottom of this post - I hope you enjoy it!
It probably goes without saying, but after a little break I'm going to get right on with developing 0.6, so I'll speak to you all in a new dev log in a couple of weeks.
Until then, please let me know if anything doesn't work with 0.5 and I'll try to get it fixed ASAP, and if you have any other feedback feel free to leave it here or on discord.
