The ㅇ works 2 different ways depending on the placement in the syllable. If a syllable begins with a vowel, you place ㅇ as a silent filler for ex. 안녕 (annyeong). However, when ㅇ is at the end of the syllable it becomes ng just like it does in annyeong.
