Jack & Jill - Phase 9, Part 19

On the eve of the Coming Out dinner, Emily confronts the full reality of her brother's transformation, while Josie prepares for a mission that could free them allβ€”or cost them everything.

Sorry that this is late, everyone. I'm still a little behind this month, but I also wanted to take my time to make sure this episode was as good as possible. I think it's an important one. Thank you so much for your support! πŸ’•

P.S. I've also attached Josie and Emily's 'dramatis personae' files in case you need a refresh on their characters!

Thank you, Robert! I loved writing this "quiet" scene between Emily and Josie. I wanted to carve out that space for connection and vulnerability right before the inevitable storm breaks. Emily has been relentlessly driven, consumed by her mission to save Jack, while Josie is doing her best to navigate her own survival. But that doesn't mean there isn't time for a little smooching. πŸ˜‰

A deceptively calm interlude and the calm before the storm, in which Emily and Josie tentatively and gently create the seeds of their relationship. It’s beautifully drawn and the dialogue is both sweet and mature, making for a perfect chapter, and the last few frames provide a perfect romantic closure. I bet you enjoyed writing this one, Emory.

The establishing shot and the night time vista out the window are some of my favorite low-light panels you've made. They're so incredible and very realistic. Top notch.
