Playing Donnie McDuff's (Gary Stewart's guitarist) original 1966 Fender Stratocaster!

This was a fun one. Donnie and his daughter knew Keith Mitchell (who I was playing with at the time) and brought it to a gig after he passed. Here I'm playing it on 'Pride and Joy' by SRV (with a bit of my own extended solo), plugged into a Mesa Boogie Mark V (on the Mark I setting, used on early Larry Carlton and Robben Ford stuff)

Music Theory 1 and 2 UPDATE, PART 2

Hi Patrons, thanks for the quick response to the previous poll. It looks like Theory 2 was the winner there.

There are just enough weeks in the Summer to finish both courses if we start THIS WEEKEND. Who would be ready? Keep in mind, these are recorded and you could refer to recordings if you would like.

I will still offer the other times (Monday Evenings and Tuesday Mornings) starting the first week of JUNE.

For those of you who voted for 'Saturday at 3 PM CST'...

Quilter Mach 3 arrived... good grief.

I've owned over 70 amps in my life. I've been blown away only a few times, and this is one of them. Just plugging in on the 'Sweet' (Dumble) voicing with some slap and OD, and I got this.

Tube vs. Solid State?

Been doing a lot of back and forth while working on my Brothers AM/AnalogMan King of Tone video. Honestly guys - I am choosing the Quilter most days. This amp sounds better with OD pedals than my $3k tube amps... in this clip I am using the Barber Five Watt World BUSS on the Dumble setting. Check it out.

My dad was an engineer in defense systems, and actually had a patent on the stealth bomber. He was a guitarist, and always told me that 'solid state could eventually sound just as good' - I think we are there!

Probably one of the most important lessons in the series... here we learn 48 chords in 15 minutes, and the strategies we apply here will open up the whole neck for you! This same basic concept will be applied to scales, arpeggios, triads, pentatonics...
