Texas is for #horsegirls + schedule update!

Nikki and Snowfall at sunset surrounded by Texas bluebonnets. Seems peaceful, I'm sure nothing will bother them... 😊

As for the schedule, I've decided to get back on track by keeping everything the same except that Jack & Jill will now be a double episode on the 31st. Also, the Half Sisters dramatis personae will be out next Wednesday.

That means this week you'll have Part 5 of Anywhere but Boring and Chapter 9 of The Catch!

Just like her! 🤣

Emory Ahlberg

But it’s still a mess! 😉

Robertlouis

You're right! 🌄Thank you so much, Stacy! I'm a fan of the horse haha.

Emory Ahlberg

I think in film making that's what's called 'the golden hour.....beautifully captured Em :-) x

stacy C

Thanks Bos. I will!

Robertlouis

And she used to have / love long hair when she was younger!

Emory Ahlberg

Elrod almost took the words even out of MY mouth with how wonderfully that was written 😊. Great insight on the bluebonnets!

Emory Ahlberg

Can’t wait to see her with Hutchinson’s promised extensions though. Her features would really suit long hair.

Robertlouis

I spent a lot of time in Texas in business in the Noughties, mostly in the Dallas/Richardson area, but I did get the chance to spend some downtime in the desert and discovered bluebonnets in profusion there. The name surely comes from Scottish settlers, which warmed my own Scottish heart. Their blue really is vivid.

Robertlouis

Phew, that’s deep, Elrod, but a pretty sharp analysis. Nikki is one of the most f*cked up characters in Emory’s entire universe, partly because of her own psychological makeup but also because of the long list of horrific and traumatic experiences she has undergone. Add to that the fact that for so long she’s done so without allies or real friends, and it’s hardly surprising that she’s suspicious to the point of paranoia when people make genuinely friendly approaches to her. It’s not aloofness on her part; it’s fear.

Robertlouis

Wow - That's really beautifully written, Elrod! 💕 And thank you also, Robert! Nikki is one of those lucky(?) girls who can looked weary, sad, scared, and introspective - and also tragically pretty.

Emory Ahlberg

Yep, it's a bit longer! Maybe this is a few months in the future... 😊

Emory Ahlberg

I couldn't help myself. They're so lovely! 🪻

Emory Ahlberg

You're welcome, Wojtek! And, wow, you're right... I definitely see the resemblance. Ew! Nikki sure could use a Texas Ranger to help her out lol.

Emory Ahlberg

🥰 thanks, Maggie!

Emory Ahlberg

Thank you, Gemma! She probably hates it but at least it looks comfortable.

Emory Ahlberg

Ok, sure. I’m glad you find meaning in them. I like them because they’re pretty.

Jade Diaz

Resilience, bravery, sacrifice, and admiration. Like Summer's turquoise dress...they grow even where nothing else will grow. Basically, the girls of Second Dawn.

Female-Bosmer-Always

What do bluebonnets symbolize?

Jade Diaz

it looks a bit longer. What's fun is that as I work on creating my own story (Daz3d), I see what products Emory is using. Which is good for her - I'm an engineer with a renaissance view of 'making' stuff. I have a very hard time NOT trying to make something.

Elrod W

Apologies, muse Emory, I always seem to reply late these days. I wanted to say so much, but I believe Elrod W took most...but not all...of the words out of my mouth. I fear Nikki will end up being gelded and Jill's sacrifice was for naught, since muse Emory doesn't SHOW without a firm future purposes. Bluebonnets symbolize bravery and sacrifice just as turquoise symbolizes wisdom, tranquility, fertility, protection, good fortune, and hope. Ancient peoples believed in its profound power to protect, as well as its tranquil energy and its association with enduring love, like the love Summer has for her family and fellow Second Dawn girls, compared with Hutch's ambition and lust for power. Anyways, here a snippet of Hutchinson putting Summer Chastity Crowe in her place. Thanks muse Emory, Robert Louis's & Elrod W's comments for inspiring me. And here's hoping I follow through.

Female-Bosmer-Always

Neither would I Robert and thanks for the like. Stick around why won't you...for my own Xuniverse story snippet...involving the monstrously loathsome Hutch and sweet Olivia's whose story I just re-read. Wow, so much symbolism and layers upon layers.

Female-Bosmer-Always

I completely agree. And so much of it is in those soulful brown eyes and the cheekbones. Nikki is one of Emory’s most complex creations psychologically, because of the searing and traumatic experiences she’s had to endure, but Emory captures it all so well, not just in her facial expressions, but also in her awkward and stilted body language. It’s incredibly skilful.

Robertlouis

Is it my imagination, or the Texas wind, or is Nikki’s hair a bit longer in these pics?

Robertlouis

Jade, also the layers and layers of symbolism Emory does in every panel.

Female-Bosmer-Always

Summer Chastity Crowe©™: Well shucks, of course. ME: Why Elrod, you took the words right out of my mouth. Usually, it is only the muses Emory Alyson and Zoe who leave me speechless.

Female-Bosmer-Always

There's always been something about how Emory portrays Nikki, and this image finally triggered the connection. She's beautiful, but if she's aware, it's not something she likes. Despite a half-smile, her expression conveys an almost-hidden sadness, a shadow of tragedy. And her eyes have a wee bit of a haunted look in them - showing her angst as she wrestles with what she lost and uncertainty of what her future will be. The eyes are the windows to her soul, and hers show perhaps fatigue from fighting that which she cannot fight, defiance that's slowly fading as she grows weary of her emotional struggle, and fear of what accepting her fate would mean to her sense of identity. Emory captures a wealth of emotion in one panel, in a way that most artists cannot. And the sunset in the background - is that Emory alluding to the slow sunset of Nicolas?

Elrod W

Any panel with bluebonnets is incredible, honestly

Jade Diaz

Emory thank you for this beautiful pinup💖! I remembered that yesterday when I finished reading episode 55 of Half Sisters, I saw a gif of Walt Whitman from "Breaking Bad", he is "prettier" than Hutchinson, and he is not a handsome guy. Nikki is in Texas now maybe Cordel Walker (or Chuck Norris he for sure finds a way)😏😘 could help Nikki with Hutchinson!

Wojtek

🤤

Gemma

Thank you, Robert! Last we left off... Emily was gobsmacked by the sight of her long-lost brother... Although that word certainly doesn't seem to fit anymore!

Emory Ahlberg

Just wanted to add Nikki looks so amazingly pretty and innocent. I just love (what I can see) the floral colours and design of Nikki’s dress and how softly it falls over the top part of her body.

Gemma

Well, I don’t mind waiting for a double episode of Jack and Jill. That will be mind-blowing!

Robertlouis

💋❣️💋❣️

Just Wow!
