Half Sisters - Episode 37 + Bonus Pinup!

Okay! I wanted to make Sandy's return extra special, so this episode is mega-sized at 24 pages PLUS a bonus pinup for good measure.
Welcome back, Sandy! 🥳
Now, many of the characters in this part of Half Sisters are callbacks to Maid for Life. For those who haven't read it or need a little refresher:
Scott was a young thief without any living parents or prospects for the future. After breaking into Mrs. Ferris' mansion, he was captured and given the choice between being arrested or becoming the maid. Mrs. Ferris promised that upon completing his "punishment," Scott would be given money for college. Scott agreed to this. Mrs. Ferris was rarely at home and so supervision of Scott mostly fell to her manservant, Mortimer.
Over time, Mortimer (who believed Scott shared the same 'energy' as Mrs. Ferris daughter, Sofia) slowly transformed Scott into a girl against his will. Eventually, Scott left the mansion without completing his "contract" (and without permission) and found refuge with his old friend, Josh. Now a physically convincing woman, Josh assumed Scott was transitioning and renamed him Sandy. They briefly became lovers.
However, Mortimer tracked Scott down and injected him with a sedative. Scott woke up in Texas, irate and shocked to find further transformations had been forced upon him, including orchiectomy, breast augmentation, and facial feminization. Mrs. Ferris began calling him Sofia.
Sofia / Sandy / Scott slowly adapted to his new life over the next few months. Mrs. Ferris proposed that she (he?) become her official heiress. Sandy eventually discovered (with the help of Jessica, with whom she had a tryst) that Mrs. Ferris' real daughter, Sofia, was a trans girl. Sofia was locked up by her father when he discovered she was taking estrogen. Later, Sofia somehow died. Jessica is suspicious about Mrs. Ferris’ involvement.
Hoping to get to the bottom of the mystery of what happened to the 'real' Sofia, Sandy called Josh (who was also an experienced thief) and asked him to investigate the mansion -- unfortunately, Josh was caught by Mortimer.
Meanwhile, in Texas, Sandy and Mrs. Ferris came to understand one another a little better and each agreed to give the other another chance.
The story now picks up with Sandy and Mrs. Ferris returning to Boston to see about Josh...

Ah, the interweavings of perceived gender, sexuality, and the self...it's a lot to unpack, isn't it? A Gordian knot of social constructs and personal identity. 😉 To your point, Josh's worldview has been shaken in ways he probably never foresaw, and it's yet to be seen how he moves on from this. The concept of homosexuality might indeed be a looming specter for him, given that he did indeed unwittingly partake in a liaison that in retrospect, may seem to him as gay. But is that what's bothering him? As for your concerns about Sandy's relationship with Jessica being downplayed by Mrs. Ferris... Well, Mrs. F is a bit old-fashioned. The idea of girl-on-girl fun is a fleeting fancy in her mind, but the reality of two women being in a serious relationship might be a bit much for her to comprehend. At least at this moment!

The lengths he's willing to go to fulfill Ferris's wishes, from the fierce protection to the bizarre requests, has always been a fascinating character point for me.

It seems being intimate, in his eyes with Sandy when he thought she was transgendered did not undermine his ‘heterosexual sensibilities’ and sense of self. I wonder, however, by learning that Sandy’s transformation was forced upon ‘Scott’ seems to have rocked and undermined his perceptions his sexuality. On top of this, I wonder if maybe, if Josh, based on the reality that Sandy’s forced feminisation, now feels he was tricked into engaging in what he might deem now to be a homosexual liaison. In relation to this, what does this ( he may fear) say about him? How also (he may feel) might Sandy might now views and perceive him, based on his actions as being guy. There are so many psychological possibilities which are being played out here with Josh, I am only making stab in the dark guesses around what he is experiencing. Alternatively, I also hold out hope for Scott and Jessica’s ongoing relationship which was down graded and trivialised by Mrs Mortimer. I think Sandy needs a ‘strong and dominant female’ to be with and to attend to her more submissive (but strong in her own way), burgeoning feminine sense of self.

I appreciated more the role Mortimer undertook in Scott being chosen to undertake the changes he underwent to become Sandy. I also appreciated how loyal and focussed Mortimer is to attending to his Mistress Mrs Ferris’s broken, grief stricken heart.

I agree with Nikki Media that Sandy looks absolutely stunning in this episode. Yet, I still think she'd be hell of a lot prettier with a different hair style, and blonde. I really liked her before she was...altered.

Sandy is not a product like "all the other boys" Jeezz how many of them were before??? Mrs Ferris knew about all of them??? Oh... She has still a lot to explain to Sandy in light of the principle, zero secrets maximum redemption... I really wish that Mrs Ferris really wants best for Sandy... it will be really tough task to explain all of this to Josh who is at the point where he sees only tiny scraps of all this "shit"... P.S. P.S.2 When Sandy is shown the whole dark truth of Mr. Ferris it will be a solid punch in the gut for Sandy and a potential reason to think about resisting full acceptance of her new self just as Nikki continues to do.
