Wallpaper #85 - VroomVroom

I know the wallpaper isn't very Christmasy this time, but I sure had fun with it!

I've actually been working on this image for a few months now. I started it back in August or September and it was so involved that I had to keep putting it aside, but I'm really glad I was finally able to finish it. 

Gamercat riding a go-kart was one of the very first concept sketches I ever drew of him, though I'm not sure if I ever shared the art, so here it is below!

Wallpaper #84 - A Colorful Cat

Happy November! We're getting so close to the end of the year, aren't we?

As it gets colder and grayer outside I find myself drawn towards more colorful and abundant themes in an attempt to compensate. For this month's wallpaper I decided to go for Chicory, a beautiful and charming little game that lets you color your world as you see fit.

I had so much fun experimenting with a sketchy brush and watercolor effects for this. It was so relaxing and fun to work on!

Wallpaper #83 - Grabby Hands

Happy spooky month, everybody!! It's finally back!

This year I decided to hit one of my favorite horror games, Little Nightmares! There were so many scenes to pick from, but in the end settled on this creepy, anxiety-inducing segment where I screamed, "NO NO NO!!" the whole way down the hall. I think the Janitor was the scariest of all the goons...such long, creepy arms with gross grabby hands.

Wallpaper #82 - A Short Hike

Happy September everyone! I hope you're all enjoying the last of summer while you can.

For this month I wasn't really sure what to do at first, but I eventually realized that I've never done a wallpaper for a game that I really adored - A Short Hike. It's one of the most charming little games I've played and I love all the beautiful scenery it has. If you haven't played it yet I definitely recommend it.

Wallpaper #81 - Strayed

You know, doing a Stray themed wallpaper is pretty much a no-brainer, and I almost didn't think of it. Shame on me!

I absolutely adored this game, it was right up my alley and I loved every moment of it. There were so many scenes to choose from when making a wallpaper, but I finally decided on the one that stood out to me the most personally. For some reason trotting into this room filled with old CRT monitors flickering in the darkness just made a really big impression on me.

Wallpaper #80 - Dream Buffet

So I'm actually glad I was running a little late with the wallpaper this month, because when I saw the new trailer for Kirby's Dream Buffet I knew what I wanted to draw!

I really love doing the gamer cats in their Kirby forms, and I love cupcakes and pastels and party themes, so this was a real fun treat. I can't wait to play the game, I'm sure it'll be completely adorable and super fun.

Wallpaper #79 - Gotta Go Fast!

There's been a lot of buzz around Sonic lately, what with the second movie and the new open world game being teased. It made me realize I've never actually done Sonic-Gamercat before and it seemed like a fun wallpaper for this month.

Interesting trivia - I often imagine Gamercat's voice being very similar to the one used for the old Sonic cartoon. It's almost a shame I haven't done him as Sonic yet!

Wallpaper #78 - Operate Manuel

I'm sorry this wallpaper is a bit late this month! Things have gotten hectic lately and I also got a little ambitious with creating all the assets for it. 

For those who haven't played it, I highly recommend Tunic! I thought it might just be another Zelda clone, but the reliance on the vintage style game manual was amazingly well thought out and it created a really unique and fun experience.

I hope you all will indulge me on this month's wallpaper :)

I know I've done the cherry blossom theme twice before, but it really is one of my favorites! I just love cherry blossoms, especially juxtaposed with a black cat. The pop of contrast is so great! And this was very relaxing and fun to do, I had a great time with it.

Wallpaper #76 - Gone Fishin'

Pardon the lack of a St. Paddy's Day wallpaper this month, but when I saw the screenshots of the fishing mini game from the new Kirby game I just knew I HAD to draw it. It's so dang cute!!

I also absolutely love drawing Gamercat-Kirby and am always looking for an excuse to do more of him. I'm really excited about getting a new Kirby game too! I haven't had time to play the demo yet, but I'm going to try to do it soon. It looks so fun and unique.

Wallpaper #75 - New Adventures

I know what you're probably thinking. Where's the lovey-dovey Valentine's wallpaper? Huh??

I usually use that theme for February, but this year I just couldn't think of something I wanted to do, and the new Pokemon game's visuals were really calling to me. This was inspired by several promotional shots from Arceus and was an enjoyable way to practice my landscapes, so I had a lot of fun with it.

Wallpaper #74 - Superstar!

Hey patrons, sorry this wallpaper is a bit late! I got a little ambitious with it, wanting to do the entire Gamercat cast as the new FNAF characters.

All the details slowed me down a bit, but this was so much fun to do! It was interesting to find all the similarities in the characters as well - Chica has an eye spot and 3 hair spikes just like Glitch, Monty has the same tail shape and stripes as Sweet, and Roxy shares Pixel's color schemes.

Well we've made it through the year and are into the final month. I've been so cold lately so I wanted to do something warm and cozy for this month's wallpaper.

This was inspired by a picture I came across while looking at cozy Christmas images and I really fell in love with it. For some reason it really struck me and I just had to incorporate it. I'm really pleased with how this one came out!

So it seems that Cookie Clicker was just released on Steam this month, and it got me feeling pretty nostalgic.

Well 2020 is finally in the past and we have a whole new year sprawling ahead!

I've always loved Kirby-Gamercat, but I realized that I've never done the others with that look. Glitch came out the cutest, but I have to admit Sweet's little puckered face makes me laugh every time I look at it.
