She is DEFINITELY hitting on Sofia/Sandy. And who wouldn't? Sandy is really cute these days, wouldn't you agree? 😉 Sofia still likes girls; she has discovered that she's bisexual. But whether she would do that to Josh is another matter.

God forbid a fictional character say anything controversial.

And…..breathe. This was a lot less edgy than the Nikki episodes where you feel that something is always about to go off, largely because of Nikki’s personality. Sofia’s much more at ease with herself and more mature too. It will be very interesting to see how her arc develops in this series of chapters, but also how close we get to discovering what happened to the real Sophie. Great start, Emory.

That Jessica is really hot. I'd appear she's hitting on Sofia/Sandy. I wonder if Sofia would want to have sex with a woman at this point, if she's emotionally and sexually more girl than guy at this is point?

First off, nuts to your computer for keeping you up until some ungodly hour! Kinda love that Sandy starts her email with "Good evening, Josh". So formal and correct! Sandy in person: literally leaping into Josh's arms. Sandy by email: "Dearest Josh, I hope this missive finds you well. The weather is Texas is most disagreeable and my testicles have been taken from me by a wealthy harridan. Regards, Sandy." Scared for Josh, though. Hopefully he and the boys have guns, too, or any confrontation with Mortimer might be short. Also, "my...situation," Sandy, are you going to tell the boys everything? Or even just the version Josh assumed when you got together? Scared for YOU, now. "You used to call me 'Gollum,' remember :P" Okay, so: 1) Sandy uses old-school text emoji whereas Jessica uses the new ones, and I'm certain there's something very deep I could read into their respective personalities here but I'm still busy being distracted by Sandy's chest; 2) Josh definitely rewatched Lord of the Rings as part of his depression spiral and it took him a long time to realise why he started getting wistful and aroused when Gollum started climbing all over the scenery; 3) Hell yes, comma inside the quote marks, Sandy is best girl. And Jessica and Sandy's definitely-not-a-date! Jessica half-opening her door and quickly inviting Sandy inside: does she have a problem with homophobic neighbours? Love that they both tried to match the mood from the last time they met up. Jessica never dresses like this, but Sandy's hot *and* not local and thus never even knew Jessica when she had "the grace of a cow" (thanks, Mrs Ferris, you absolute charmer) so it's time to get the legs out. And, wow, yeah, she has LEGS. Poor Sandy; never gets to be the tall one. I actually flicked back through the PDFs and can't find a single example of Sandy being taller than ANYONE. "Girls I actually—" Oh, no. Oh, Jess. Sandy quickly absorbing the "don't say slut" lesson without comment and then immediately putting on makeup and losing the capris just to make Jessica feel better. She's so sweet! And good at makeup, likes the clothes... She's got really good at this. I wonder how much of her adaptation is because she likes to make the people around her happy, even Mrs Ferris. Remembering how she thought Mrs Ferris, lost in memory, looked like, "a sad and lonely woman." Girl has empathy to spare. God, she even dressed up for Josh that first time just because he wanted her to, and she wanted to please him. Sandy: "I was so happy you texted." Jessica: "Really?" 😍 😍 😍 Sandy: "Yeah I wanna talk business." Jessica: 😭 😭 😭 And then Sandy instantly drops the subject of Sofia because she likes making people happy. This girl is SO sweet and it keeps getting her into trouble. The whole arcade sequence is just super adorable. Jess flirting HARD but still being kind of awkward and insecure, Sandy finally picking up all the anvils Jess has been dropping like two hours too late. God. Poor Jessica wants to move on, and a new pretty girl entering her life makes that seem possible for her; Sandy *can't* move on, doesn't even (yet?) consider herself a girl, and already loves someone. This could get real heartbreaky real fast. Finally, from earlier in the episode: "girl-type people." I inhaled a bit of coffee. Thanks, Emory.
