March Update: Better Late Than Never?

Well, this took a little too long to get wrapped up, but maybe it's just that my perception is skewed (we did have the walktrhough update during the first week, after all). Anyway, we got some more content for the academy, and some QoL changes (let me know what you think of those). Without further ado, here is the update:

P.S. If you do try the QoL features, let me know how they feel. Does the scheduler have any issues or misses any features, do the city names trigger from far enough and shoud I add the names of all locations, is the tutorial easier to follow? These got added last, so the testers didn't have the opportunity to try them out, any feedback is appreciated.

I'll try to keep an eye out for this one anyway, but it's good that it didn't happen again.

I loaded my second save to try and recreate what happened but it didn't happen. I think the hot fix fixed whatever was causing it.

Since I have a second save and it's right before that happened I'll see if it happens again and give more details after I get home.

Looking through the code, nothing seems obviously wrong. I'll ask my testers to try this again next time, and see if they come up with anything.

I did the target practice first then the magic symbol puzzle. When I got kicked from the school my sprite disappeared. It only happened that one time because before I left for work I tried again and it didn't happen again.

Dang it. Could you tell me in which order you completed the various parts of the test?

Not sure if it was fixed with the hot fix patch but when I completed the entrance test for the magic academy the sprite disappeared. It didn't crash the game but being invisible made playing a bit more difficult lol.

a lot of av programs tend overreact to stuff, norton flags a lot of stuff as ws.reputation which is essentially saying "this file looked at me funny so it must be bad"

I'm not sure why the game wasn't working or why it was treated like a virus now when it never happened before but it looks like if fixed it.

Security is probably set too high, ive scanned and ran it. Not a virus, some MEGA downloads will come up like that, just depends. Double check youre downloading the right link, if so youre fine.

I'm not sure what's going on but when I download the game from mega it comes through as a virus. This is the first time this has happened. Is there another way to download??

The issue was fixed after doing another one of the lessons with the other teacher, the first class now works as intended. So, you were right that something funky was going on.

Don't worry if you can't. As I noted afterward, I think I figured out what the problem was, so we should be good. I just need to decide when to drop the hotfix. :)

I... can see if I have a save file that could try that, not sure if I do, since I am out of new save slots, so I tend to overwrite the same file over and over, so I remember what is where.

If you can, you could try starting a magic theory lesson, and quitting that one right away, which should reset the variable just fine for the enchantment lesson. Ironically, I think the second bug could only ever happen because of the first bug. XD

Fixed the -1 bug. I am not sure what's going on with this second bug you are reporting, since the lessons seem to work fine for me. Any chance you could share a savefile with me, or tell me more (what did you do before starting the lesson, and what dialogue did you see before the mini-game ended on its own)? Edit: I might have figured it out, I think it's because I forgot to reset a variable properly before the lesson, so there is a chance of it being altered in some other event, and then triggering the end of the mini-game prematurely.

Another bug; if you do the first Enchantment class, you instantly win the mini-game, and since it turns to night, you get kicked out of the school, but now you don't have a sprite anymore. Found the issue, the first mini-game doesn't have a puzzle, which is what causes it. I'm still looking for a way to restore the player's sprite short of a reload, though.

Found an exploit with the spell table minigame. If you go down to 1 mana, then choose Equalizer, you go into -1 points and can just keep going until you max EVERYTHING
