Added 2026-01-16 04:33:02 +0000 UTC25. Vocational Experience as an Adventurer (1)
The second day of vocational experience. I entered the classroom and was sitting in my seat when Lumel came over.
"Rio, good morning."
"Lumel, good morning."
"How was the vocational experience the other day?"
"It was really fun. I thought knights are pretty good too. What about you, Lumel?"
"I had fun too. Mixing medicine was similar to cooking, so it was exciting."
It seems Lumel enjoyed her vocational experience as well. This is what they mean by you won't know unless you go.
"Today we're both doing our top choice vocational experience. Aren't you super excited?"
"Yeah, really excited! Though, since I'm just watching the cooking at my family's shop, I doubt there will be anything new. Rio is going to a place you've never seen before, so that sounds fun."
"Yeah! I've never been to the Adventurer's Guild, so I'm super excited!"
I wonder what the Adventurer's Guild in this world is like? I'd hate it if it felt dirty, so I hope it's a clean place...
As we were talking like that, the teacher entered the classroom.
"Okay, good morning everyone. Today is the second day of vocational experience. Make sure to experience it properly. Now, let's split up by vocational experience."
At the teacher's signal, we started moving. Students of the same grade from the next classroom also started moving, heading to their pre-determined locations.
I moved to the next classroom and went to the scheduled meeting spot. There were already two classmates there.
"Yo, Rio!"
"Figured Rio would come."
"You guys too, huh."
I joined up with the two boys. Yes, these are the only aspiring adventurers. ...No matter how you look at it, this is too few! Adventurers should have more dreams and hopes! And yet, and yet!
"Why... are there so few adventurers!"
"Can't be helped, right? The royal capital is full of attractive jobs. There's no need to take unnecessary risks."
"Yeah, yeah. Since we're in the capital, there's no need to go outside the walls."
"How can you guys be so carefree?! You should do more missionary work! Spread the word that adventurers are a noble profession!"
"We understand the feeling, but... there's a temperature difference with everyone else."
"Do something about that temperature difference!"
"There's a temperature difference right here too."
If these two were more passionate, surely we would have had more companions! Why did it turn out like this!
"Well, well, it's fine with just us. Fewer competitors is better."
"Besides, we're likely future party members anyway, so let's get along."
"In that case, I'll whip you into shape starting now. Prepare yourselves."
" "Scary!" "
Do you think you can serve as adventurers with such lukewarm resolve?! If you say you're party members, I'll train you thoroughly... yes! I'll train you thoroughly!
"Saying that, are you training your body, Rio?"
"Of course. Lately, I've been doing muscle training every day."
"Seriously...? Rio, you're too serious starting now. You don't have to go that far, do you?"
"It seems I need to train your hearts as well, you bastards."
" "No, seriously scary!" "
Do you think you can serve as adventurers with such wimpy attitudes?! It's hard to understand why there's such a difference in feelings. Adventurers must do it with more passion.
"Are you the kids aspiring to be adventurers?"
Just then, a voice I'd never heard before called out. Turning around, I saw a young woman wearing a ultramarine uniform standing there.
"Yes, we are aspiring adventurers!"
"Yeeeah."
"Yup yup."
"Is that so... I had heard, but there really are few of you."
The young woman looked down with a sad face. Could this lady be... an Adventurer's Guild staff member? Whoaaa! First time seeing a live Adventurer's Guild staff member!
Here, I need to say something witty to cheer her up!
"We are three aspiring adventurers overflowing with motivation! Like, really! Prepared to die!"
" "Don't kill us on your own!" "
"What are you going to do with that spirit?! Show more motivation!"
"Gueh, k-kuh, I can't breathe!"
"I definitely won't form a party with Rio!"
I choked the unmotivated boy. The other boy interfered, so it suddenly got noisy. How about that! Our motivation must have been conveyed!
"C-calm down! I understand you have motivation!"
"Then, it's fine."
"Geho, goho! ...Rio, brute strength."
"Rio, what a terrifying child."
Apparently, my feelings got through. Good, good, this should make for a good first impression. As I thought that, piron, a notification sound rang. But I don't have time to check right now.
"It's a shame the numbers are low, but I'm happy you're all motivated kids. Well then, shall we start the vocational experience? First, I'll guide you through the Adventurer's Guild."
" " "Yay!" " "
We can enter the long-awaited Adventurer's Guild! We high-fived each other in joy.
When the lady started walking, we followed behind her. Overflowing with excitement, we headed towards the Adventurer's Guild while chatting happily.
