Upcoming Hiatus

TL:DR - Pledges will be paused for AT LEAST the month of October, following this tiers and benefits will change

Howdy all, been a wild year here, not necessarily  in a good way. I've put off bringing major changes to my page for a while and I've always tried to remain open about the fact that this is due to my job giving me little wiggle room to get renders done. I'd hoped that this would end in February, but my team is now a year behind our planned point of development (I do software dev but it's all very wrapped in NDA). I never originally set out to do this for the money but it was a welcome bonus, but in the joyous economic times we live in it's getting harder to justify the time I put in for free when NSFW creates are getting their reach throttled by nearly every social media outlet and payment service around. I don't like to complain, but lately this has become more a chore than a hobby trying to maintain a bare minimum number of posts. Hell in a way it's a positive, I've been using my free time going out and living my life, but there's always the nagging desire to create something new - I don't want to give up on it but I'm my own worst enemy when it comes to new ideas. They just keep coming and then none of them ever get realised. I dread to think how  many gigabytes of WIP projects I've got on the backburner that have been completely forgotten.

But fuck feeling sorry for myself, the point of this is, I want to maintain this service in some form, giving a little extra to the people that donate to my booze fund. My plan as of writing is to pause pledges for October at least, with no posts during that time. After that I'll be switching to subscription billing so that people aren't being charged twice within a monthly period. Additionally I'll be removing the $1 tier - I've said it before but I just want to provide more to the people that pay when my Pixiv gets most of the same content to the $1 tier. On the topic of Pixiv I'll likely open a Fanbox page of my own. Patreon never liked me directly linking to this page from Pixiv, and given that Twitter is making it ever harder to gain followers or even show my work to the existing ones, moving my activity to more supportive sites is a no-brainer.

I don't know yet how I'll be adjusting other tiers but something will need to change. I'll likely be raising the cost of the tiers that provide bespoke content, as the time investment just hasn't been worth the cost. God knows if/when I'll open public commissions again but they'll need a big price increase as well. Less than minimum wage just isn't viable.

Money crap aside, I want to finally put my time to some large scale projects as I've been wanting to for years. This will probably come with some writing, hopefully a foray into 2D art if I ever get confident enough with my painting, and ideally some interactive content. I'll say now, this will be 99% OC centric - whilst fan art gets me more engagement on the soc meds, I have very little desire to make it, and my lack of drive is what's gotten us to this point. Importantly, I'll be adjusting how I distribute the content of posts. Had a big leak of all of my posts recently, and I have a fairly good idea of who did it, so I'll be upping security in the future
