Honestly, as a video editor watching the leader class, I think the issue is that they were trying to make it difficult to pick a winner, so the edit utilized angles that didn't allow for good comparison. The editor probably did an initial edit that used the good, front-on angles and a producer would have come back and said they wanted a more ambiguous edit with close-ups where it looks good but is hard to feel the vibe. But if you watch the leader class with Rie and Honey J, you notice the camera will be switching shots in multiple cases or zooming in, which shows us there was a limited number of shots showcasing what the producer wanted, otherwise we wouldn't see as the camera switched from one person to another. That's almost always how a show ends up, with showing bad camera work, the producer wanting to show or not show something specific. They might have disguised it because it was too obvious Rie won with front-on angles, or because Honey J did do well. They might have been protecting the show against backlash if people disagreed with the decision or any number of reasons relating to the result being predicted or how viewers react to the result.

2025-06-14 09:54:25 +0000 UTCmnet really stepped it up with the videos this time, and i am super happy!! i think they all came out great, but the Leaders' video was my personal favourite. sooo cohesive and sooo crisp. i love how all the leaders got center time and how the highlight was truly the dance. also, Rie's work ethic really shone through. so professional and kind, truly. i think we've reached the point of the show where Mnet starts to relax A LIIITTLE BIT with the evil editing and forced narratives and finally lets us see the camaraderie between the groups and how much they admire and hype each other up. very excited about the next missions!

It was funny bcs after the mv came out Teesha, Marlee and Kaea were the ones that stood out most, capability will take you places! lol

It's not even the edit, if you see the battle i feel like Rie was filmed much more than honey but because honey caught our attention more, we felt like we saw her more. I'm actually very disapointed with the leaders video. I mean Rie actually didn't make the best choices. Last season, when Bada saw that kirsten was doing the choreo very good, she did a duet with her in the center at the end, but this time, I feel like Rie didn't give Honey J justice. This just showcased that there are levels in the game and it's not always about who danced the best. Even the choreo for the leaders, i didn't really like it, the more I watch it the more I find it cringey. It's just weird.
