They didn’t do her voice justice at all. You should definitely watch her performances on girls on fire. They are actually insane. I recommend her performances of jackpot, sorry and sixth sense.

I love the final lineup (although I was really pulling for Emily) I hope you keep reacting to Katseye since they are quite unique compared to other idols and it's interesting to see Hybe's take on a "global" girl group and their direction

I mean by the time the documentary was released they knew the line-up for like 8 months, so yeah. And very clearly all the girls that weren't fluent in english had very little screen time. Not only the asian girls like Yoonchae, UA, Nayoung, Mei or Hinari. But it was the same with Celeste too that came way before the last bunch of trainees. I don't know if it was because they (the netflix producers) were worried their english speaking audience wouldn't like a show with too much subtitles or if it's just because of laziness but in any case it's not good. And really not fair for these girls. They did seem to have translators for the evaluations, or some big meetings, as well as some practices with the teachers, but yep apparently they weren't there when it was just the girls training by themselves.

2025-02-16 20:44:02 +0000 UTCbut like even with behind the scenes stuff for their shoots, glam, etc, she barely had any coverage which is so sad. same with UA. wish he had more exposure to them. i feel they didn’t have enough multi-lingual staff/crew/producers. which is a shame for a show like this. even in the editing room, how much effort did we have in having korean/japanese editors to review footage? like even in practices, the girls didn’t seem to have official translators in the practice room (correct me if i’m wrong). definitely looking forward to getting to know yoonchae more

2025-02-16 20:31:03 +0000 UTCI feel bad for Nayoung because she did want to be in a girl group. She mentioned it in the competition show "Girls on Fire" (which is a great show from S Korea). I think the judges either did not really listen to her or just used that as an excuse to let her go. If you watch Girls on Fire, you will hear how amazing she is vocally. I totally agree with you on the ethnicity comments but, unfortunately, I think that the producers did exactly what you said should not be done. However, I really like the final lineup and girls who made Katseye. Thank you for all your insight and comments

Like, already while the survival happened, it just made me so mad. Like you I just wish we would judge on talent, skills, charisma, personality and not starting that whole thing with quota and only one girl from each ethnic group can be there. Like wtf ? But in the end the whole show was just a competition between countries and not the girls themselves. I like Ezrela a lot, but guess what I also like Lara a lot and I would been really happy with both girls in the group. And not going to lie, but it just broke my heart when Ezrela was talking about it. She is really the sweetest girl. Tbh, it was something that was already making me mad during Boys Planet. I remember a lot of international fans that were not voting for even one korean trainee because there were mad at the korean audience that voted more for korean trainees. And like yeah I get it, it's annoying when a talented trainee is not ranking high because he doesnt fit the KBS or he doesn't just have the korean nationality or whatever. But you're not better by doing the exact same thing but opposite. (Or attacking people who dare to vote for korean trainees...) Anyways, I'm 100% with you on this, and I hope we'll get over this "quota phase" at some point and just judge people equally without taking in account their ethnicity, not juste because of that for the "quota" and not one more. We're in 2025, it should already have happened a long time ago but well..

2025-02-15 23:37:53 +0000 UTCHi ! Oh that final episode still makes kind of emotional x) I'm so happy with the line-up, and in the same time really sad for the other girls that didn't get to debut. All the finalists were very talented and ready at this point so I don't think I would really been mad at any results. I think it's one of the best line-up we could have overall, and very cohesive. They just look amazing together, and have very different type of voices, very interesting tones + really good dancers so yeah amazing group. For Yoonchae, I understand your surprise as someone who just watched the documentary. You are right, she didn't get a lot of coverage in the show, and I was kind of surprised the first time I watched it. I think one of the reason is that she was part of the last group of trainees that came just before the survival. So already, it means that she wasn't there for like almost half of the episodes, and then I think the fact that she wasn't fluent in english at this point didn't help either. I can't wait for Weekly Idol next week, it's such a fun episode. You're probably going to love it ! And for you to discover the girls more, they're just amazing (and really funny) ! Oh also excited for Universe League ! Have an amazing day ! :D

2025-02-15 23:16:22 +0000 UTCi honestly don’t know why they didn’t record the vocals idk if thats ever been said. about the “how do they know she weird” before the show was over it came out that samara was liking zionist videos on tiktok and kinda has just been weird since the show ended so yea people were definitely showing how displeased with her they were. because before that she was pretty well liked. i love the final 7. i don’t think i would replace any members. i would’ve just added marquise if it was 7.
