First elimination! Did the right trainees make it?? Who are your favorites from who's left?
the crazy thing for people watching and voting in the app was that lingling always had top 4 of all the girls for support but didn't make it because it's mostly outside korea and korea counts for half so her votes came in low

right?! I was so sad Yui didn't make it and they kept getting her hopes up by phrasing stuff about the candidates so that it might have meant her. Girl had her hopes crushed and brought up like 5 times. the crying!!!! ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ

This lineup was great I just wish Yui was in it too, I think she would do great and had a chance in finals T-T

I see the resemblance between Koko and Yujin of Zb1. It is not only their stare but, in their chin, when they are making expressions.
From here on out, it is more similar to the original ILand, in that part 2 starts off with 12 trainees, and I think 1 girl gets eliminated each episode (if I remember ILand 2 correctly).
I agree that the 12 trainees are all very strong but, there is a twist at the final episode, in the final moments, that shocks everyone. It makes sense and it should have been what they changed to all along. I just don't understand why they made the earlier decision in the first place. it is considered a curse in kpop, so I am glad the judges made the last moment change. I am trying not to spoil it for you

Yeah i enjoyed more watching you react to this because you seem to like her a lot and i relate to that. It's just so sad because in part 2 you will be able to see who they want in this group and it showed.

Omg, everyone said koko looks like Yujin. I think so too, Iโm glad we both think that ๐

Wait my bad they did had 6 million votes. Both shows converts these votes to points for the contestants so their points are actually higher than the actual votes because of the 50/50 global vs korean conversion. Though it's true that in boys planet the first round total votes are 52 million, which is why I said they have a smaller audience than produce series.

ya itโs been waaay too dragged out. but i guess the girls didnโt have that closure moment in part 1 anyway for mnet to air?
they need to focus on healthy competition like with swf series.

I actually have the opposite opinion, the amount of people who are voting are actually much less than produce series. Take in mind that both converts points yet total vote for iland is only 6 million POINTS. This is also why the contestants' placement goes up and down and can change drastically because a few hundred people can shift the voting results. When comparing to boys planet, a lot of the boys from first two episodes had established a huge following/core fandom that you would see hb, jw, yj, mt, gv, and zh not shifting too much. The only surprise was really the finale since a lot of factors can alter the final results but still predicable for members in the final debut group.

You can count in your one hand the amount of time fuko was in the entire part 2. She was heavily edited out so be ready i guess.

Feel like with how long the jiyoon/jungeun drama was dragged out makes it very obvious they had a hard time finding more drama to latch onto. Which is not surprising considering most of the contestants trained together for a minimum of months and most of the time years. In shows with bigger number of contestants who spent less time together their type of drama would be the type you find out abt after the show. They really don't make a fuss just avoid each other as best they can and it least seems like a lot of the others don't even realise they have beef. It's so low-key most fans thought it was made up in post production for most of the show.

Hey ! I enjoyed watching your reation, as usual. Ngl, when you started saying that you were maybe going to react to the next episode I was like "Pleaaaaase, yes !" ๐
But I get it, those episodes are long x)
I agree with you about the strong line up for the 12 girls here, like the only other time I felt like this was with Boys Planet finale where the 18 guys were so talented, and I wouldn't be mad at any of them debuting, same here.
Also, just wanting to point out it's always different to watch a survival show when it's hapenning or after it. Like, it's hard to grasp the popularity of each trainee when you're not following it with all the people voting talking about it.
Everyone thought Lingling and Yeeun were going to make it (including the other contestants) because they were really popular. Like they showed Lingling was one of the two with Jeemin to got the most votes for that support thing that happened during the first part. (It was something to give the trainee you were voting for a customized earpiece).
But like Mai said, the voting is actually 50% Korea/50% global as usual, and that support thing wasn't so it was misleading for LingLing, her issue being that she was very popular globally but not in Korea. And it was the opposite for Yeeun, very popular in Korea but one of the least popular trainee with the global votes.
Like I'm not going to lie, this show was an emotional rollercoaster from the begining until the end. Also because we had so little informations overall.
The first vote was this episode, and it's only about 6 of the trainees still in Iland for part 2. At this point, we still had no idea of the popularity of the 6 trainees already selected for part 2.
Also, we learned how they were going to choose the debut line-up only in the very last episode, the finale, when in most survival shows we know very early how they're going to pick them, if it's only fanvoting, or producers picks or a mix of the two...
So yeah, overall really stressful show both for the contestants and the audience until the very end. But I mean at least it keeps the surprise element until the end, when for example in Boys Planet the top 9 moved very little between each episode, and way before the end of the show we already had a very good idea of what the final line up would be, and there was no major surprise in the end.
