I really hope that they will be treated well and given good songs and good promotions since they have limited time together as a group! ZB1 hwaiting!!

2023-05-12 21:29:37 +0000 UTCRegarding Jiwoong and Hao barely speaking during Boys Planet, I have my theories on that! Hao actually did seem to make quite a few close friends, particularly among the G Group, based on the eliminated contestant's comments, but I also get the sense that he's realllllly classically introverted, so it's very much a case of having to be approached first. However, he's also very much a teacher so I think if you're struggling, THEN he'd approach you first Jiwoong, based on his close relationships with a lot of the younger trainees, also seems to look out for the younger ones too. I can definitely see him seeing Hao, thinking 'he's got his shit together' and then not feeling a particular need to seek him out? Not in a bad way, just in a there-were-so-many people way, so you see him at a distance, respect him, like him, but never get around to striking up a convo? And also just the two of them never being in the same team lol. Still, I think the two of them actually have a lot of similarities, so I think they'll get along really well once they get to know each other better! I'm really keen to see their friendship develop as members of ZB1.

2023-05-12 18:47:28 +0000 UTCFrom a Korean point of view, Matthew has a completely Korean accent, but he tends to speak so that he feels like an English-speaking person by looking at the vocabulary he uses and the order of words he speaks. So sometimes when he says the wrong word, I translate the sentence directly into English to infer its intention. I really like the journey of your Boys Planet review, so if you have time after KCON, I would like you to review another special video that aired just before the final episode. You can see 18 trainees with their personal self-camera, aspirations and spending the night together on the eve of the final.(There's also a bit of an episode about Jiwoong and Hao!)

2023-05-12 18:28:07 +0000 UTCSo, from the reviews I've seen from native Korean speakers, Matthew definitely isn't fluent but has the vibe of someone who only spoke Korean with like his grandparents and stuff. Between him and Zhang Hao, I think the difference is that he's got casual-picked-it-up-from-people-around-me Korean, while Zhang Hao is more I-studied-this-from-a-textbook Korean. As someone multilingual from childhood and now trying to pick up a new language as an adult, I can definitely say that the way you learn as a kid vs as an adult is very different! I can't speak Cantonese very fluently since I also only spoke it with my grandparents, but I can intuit grammar rules much easier? But now that I'm trying to pick up Korean as an adult, I would say grammar is my biggest struggle right now since I just don't have any instinct/basis for it.

So everyone born in 2004 (like Ricky & Gyuvin) became an adult in Korea the beginning of this year; whether they're 18 or 19 international age and no matter the month their birthday falls on. Gunwook is an 05 liner so he's still a minor until next year.

2023-05-12 16:32:52 +0000 UTCI love seeing their personalities outside of the stressful competition environment, they are so endearing. With Yujin especially, he was so stressed and sad 85% of the show basically until the last two episodes (him being shy probably didn't help either) but you can tell that hes really comfortable with all the hyungs he ended up debuting with and I love that we get to see him more relaxed and mischievous. Just the entire maknae line (ricky, gyuvin, and yujin specifically) feel like completely different people; Gunwook is pretty much the same he's like extra cute and talkative but they showcased that after the show got rid of/minimized his "intimidating and scary" storyline. Like the little bits and pieces we saw from the show and what I had as their personalities as in my head, has just been altered for a lot of the members.

You can tell they're already so comfortable with each other and I'm so excited to see their reality show 😭 The only moments where you could see their personality during the show were probably those planet camp spin-off they uploaded on youtube and it's really nice to see them a bit more relaxed and talkative.
