I know this is extremely EXTREMELY late but just so you know, the mom had died when he was young. That's why in the first episode it show Eun Woo as a young boy seeing his mom die in the hospital!! loving ur reactions as this is now my 3rd time rewatching this series haha :)

i understand why seojun's character is acting like that towards suho. Blaming something else is often a coping mechanism when dealing with grief in ones life. That doesn't make it okay of course but it just helps give you a bit of insight as to why he may be so harsh to suho saying he should suffer until the day he dies and things like that.

I feel like the inconsistencies you're seeing in Seojun's character is because he himself is pretending to be tough and he catches himself slipping a lot. That's my theory and if that's the case then it's great writing because people like that, hiding pain by appearing super hard and strong do slip sometimes. If not then yes I agree with you.

You're right about Korea it's really clean but don't think it's not the same at night. It's really like night and day, there is not rules at all and they trow garbage everywhere. But it's cleaned perfectly for the new day early. I'm sorry that you were disappointed about Paris (I'm french)

I agree that maybe the rooftop scene could have been stronger, but maybe they are saving a bigger breakdown for later? I don't know, I just feel like because Suho holds so much in, he needs to snap, you know? I really want a very emotional scene between Suho and SeoJun. I am really liking watching the Drama along with you, it's a really nice experience.

this is just a random moon gayoung / im jugyeong appreciation comment. hahaha i feel like she deserves more appreciation. she's doing so well in this series. not my favorite character of MGY but she's still doing a great job nevertheless. she's german-korean and debuted as a child actress when she was 10. she's in the same friend circle of child actors/models as astro's moonbin and sf9's chani (the friend who committed suicide in True Beauty) since they were young. This is like a trivia hahaha Gayoung had a successful career as a child actress and during her time, 3 of her friends and fellow child actresses were named as Big 3 or the Kim Troika: Kim Yoojung, Kim Saeron and Kim Sohyun which are like the most anticipated new lead actresses of the new generation kdrama :)

It's generally clean in Korea, but of course there are streets (usually near the markets) and alleys that are dirty early in the morning or late at night. There are trashes in the sidewalks but they're usually wrapped in plastics so they don't scatter. In the main roads/high ways though, it's rare to see scattered trash. I was also shocked when I went there - and for some reason, I felt like my skin suits the air in Korea more LOL I didn't get oily or haggard there even if I was walking all day. I felt the same way as you did but towards Paris. It was so nice in pictures and films but it is so chaotic and messy irl. I can say Seoul is better, it's as beautiful as what films show (but ofc there are messy places).

I was waiting for your reaction a lot. I actually found it more natural acting in the rooftop scene. I'm that kind of person who doesn't brake down in front of people. Not even close ones. So somehow I think he was spot on with his acting. And webtoon character is really control of his emotions

I have big eyebrows and because of that I had struggles in the middle school, but I was a strong girl so no one can bullied me, I just had inferiority complex in my mind. In the first episode Jugyeong's eyebrows and today Seojun's sisters eyebrows (and teacher's eyebrows too😂) reminds me myself in the past. I think in teenage everyone has something that we dont like in ourselves, but it's ok, we need some time to accept ourselves. I'm waiting for episodes where Jugyeong overcame her fears and will love herself. (and will hit that girl😅)

They made a reference on dramas Crash Landing On You (when jugyeong brother on the motorcycle) and The King: Eternal monarch (when suho and jugyeong riding a horse) here. Haha that was so cute! Highly recommended! I hope you consider them ☺️ Back to the drama: ☺️ 1. I think Jugyeong helping Seojun's sister plays a big part on his sudden realization of his feelings. As we all know, he really loves his mother and sister so much and so that's a big deal for him. 2. Also, with about his sister, although Seojun doesn't know Jugyeong's secret yet like Suho, it makes us see now that Seojun would definitely understand her too once the secret is out. so I really like that they added this part. It's on the webtoon too I believe ☺️ 3. On Seojun being chased by those troublemakers, seems like he's part of it too before but now he's trying to change so he doesn't want to be associated with them. But it angers those thugs that Seojun was ignoring them so they wouldn't let him be at peace. 4. Cha Eunwoo acting here is so great! Like the trauma, suffocation, anxiety, guilt, I felt that! I hope Suho and Seojun could talk and resolve things and be friends again like they used to. It's obvious that they have lots of misunderstandings between them. 5. I'm still with Suho here! Him and Jugyeong are perfect for each other 🥰 although I love Seojun too, I think he would be a great friend instead for Jugyeong.

Seojun is not rich, it was mentioned that he took a leave from school to do part-time jobs just so he can help with his mom's hospital bills. He's a really a family-guy, it was shown that he really cares for his mom and sister, hence also why it was a big deal for him to know that joogyeong helped his sister when she was bullied. Also, the one who does his food and cleans his home is not his mom but just a housekeeper. His mom has died (as what everyone else have explained) Thank you for the reaction and merry (late) christmas and (early) happy new year jeff!!:D

Also, I really like how I saw their very nice acting skills here. Esp EunWoo's scene during the night at the festival, when he heard the song and he was breathing hard with teary eyes. I was so caught with it... I understand your thoughts on the rooftop scene though, I also thought I'd like the emotions to be raw and painful there. Looks like it's on the direction. And if I think about it more, if there'll ever be a scene where he's bawling, I'd rather have it when he and Seojun are together. Like maybe of they're going to talk and pour everything out or moments before they reconcile?

I like how this series is going so far since we're still about to go halfway. I haven't seen the webtoon so I can't compare but I'm okay with the characters build-up. Though I also want to see more of Seojun's side on the next eps coz I want to understand him better. Like I know he's a good son and brother but I want them to establish how he was a great friend not only to Seoyeon but to Suho too. He's becoming an unlikeable character by putting so much hate on Suho when they're used be bff... As of now, I'm kinda more interested with how Suho and Seojun will come to terms over the love triangle. I mean, it's still a dead set Suho x Jubal for me romantically.

didn't read the Webtoon so I may be a little more objective I ship her and Suho but Seo Jun is such a good character. I really like all the characters in the show, like everyones storyline is pretty interesting. No skip provoking elements which I love. I disagree about the Seo Jun storyline. Like they are breadcrumbing us. I feel like we know that there are reason's for why Seo Jun is the way he is. I like that we are slowly finding out parts of his life that have been hinted at. Also the addition of his sister was great, Cause even though I ship her with Suho for obvious reasons it help makes Seo Jun more legitimate. Like it is more believable that he would understand ju gyeong because of his sisters and the little touch of him saying he is going to see his cutie i.e his sister was very sweet. I think him and ju gyeong would make great friends and her and suho great romantically.

@2:20:41 its not his mom; it was a cleaning/cooking lady. Suho's mom died already and suho was mad at his dad because he was having an affair with another woman when the mom was dying (not sure if this is a misunderstanding or not as they have not revealed this part yet but that's what young Suho saw). Suho was probably not in a good mood when his friend was calling because he heard about his dad's manager speaking on the phone trying to explain to the news article writer that the dad's sponsorship/scandal isn't real etc.

You were asking about if it is normal for coed spa.. Most Korean spas are coed. The bath portion is separated between male and female because you are naked in them but all the rooms are coed. The stone/salt/clay rooms I mean. People even take naps/do homework in them lol

Here are a few things that you may want to know 1) Suho mom died coz of cancer & while his mom was suffering, his dad was having an affair 2) Suho hates his dad coz of his attitude as well as how he portrays himself as family man who still loves his mom & care about his son 3) He had two friends but one died & one blames him for the other friends death. 4) He didn't pick up the phone coz he heard his father manager telling media how his dad was not having any affair when he apparently was having. He was pissed & took shower 1st before connecting the friend & that's why he feels guilty that he couldn't save him when in fact it is not his mistake 5) jerk father, death mother & friend & other friend blaming him led to his insomnia. He gets panic attack often due to guilt & he goes to rooftop often to cry out & that's how he met LJK too. Jitsu is his other way to spent all his bottled emotions. If you noticed that in last scene he was so angrt6 4) Seojun of webtoon was better. Here, I found him a bit mean but I hope Suho & Seojun patch up because I want some bromance..In webtoon too my favourite was Suho though but I liked Seojun too 5) Suho has never bawled in webtoon. He has always been more subtle so I don't know if that's the reason director didn't want him to bawl but I can be wrong. 6) PD said himself that they have made many changes but i liking the changes & drama so far. Actually I think the part that they flash back the story of suho side wasn't told clear enough , the actual reason why suho didn't answer the call is because he were mad at his dad behavior, as you can see that before he took a shower he kinda look mad and not in a good moods, idk is it the same reason as webtoon version but that is one of the the reasons why suho hate his dad so much. Also his mum was already passed out the woman who made food for him was his nanny that might send by his father to look after him. For me the character that are very interesting was sujin because she was totally different from the webtoon version so I'm curious of how this version will gose (in webtoon she wasn't this important or being highlighted as much as this version and her personality was very different too)

I remember Seojun picking up her ID, but was the rest of the scene the same? I thought he didn't know her real identity at that point and thus he couldn't have been purposely protecting her from bullies (or have the follow up scene of her lashing out about him being kind one minute and harsh the next).

ah honestly i was a little upset at the ID scene since they stole it from seojun. it was actually his in the webtoon but in the drama they gave it to suho. i understand wanting more moments between him and jugyeong but something about taking them from seojun bothers me a bit. i wish they could’ve just made new ones

Yeah seojun’s character is slightly different from the webtoon. I get that they had to make changes in the drama because the webtoon isn’t finished yet but tbh I like the drama a lot more than the webtoon. It’s just more interesting to me and I think Suho and Jugyeong’s characters are a lot more appealing in the drama

Suho's mom died of cancer when he was a kid. In the flashbacks while he and his dad were sparring, it showed her dying while the dad was having an affair or getting a sexy massage or whatever lol. (Now I continue your wonderful reaction!)
