Hm, I voted for Dancing High, but at the moment I really enjoy watching "Street Dance of China Season 3". Lay of EXO, Jackson Wang of GOT7, Wallace Chung and Wang Yibo are the captains of the teams. The show portrays different dance styles, dance culture and dance battles really well. It's currently airing as far as I know. I think we only have 2 episodes so far but they habe been amazing! Way better judging system than Hit The Stage lol

Dancing High is my second fave dance show. It is type of survival show but the main price is the scholarship for the winners, they can attend some famous dance school abroad (idk any dance schools I just love to watch dance shows) it is the only difference from the others survival shows like Produce 101 and more. There's also few thangs u will like abt it and one of them is the fact that NCT Maknae Jisung is in there as well ^^ he wanted to make some friends TT But there's one warning: u may be triggered by the ranking. I was so annoyed sometimes because it was kinda not fair enought but it may be just me ;-;

Can I suggest “rainbow v” ?(⊃｡•́‿•̀｡)⊃ this project is WayV member’s self production works (ten&winwin’s lovely is include in it too!). You will see all of the process start from choosing the songs,concepts,clothes to their self composing songs or create choreography!

All of these (except for I-Land) are quite good. If you don't get around to watching all of Mixnine definitely at least check out some of the clips with A.C.E, ONF, and KNK in them. The version of TVXQ's 'Love in the Ice' on the show is still one of my favorite covers of the song ever. Lee Donghun....

Dancing High or The Unit. Either of the two is a win for me bcs you'll see my talented child LEE JOOHYUN (born in 2004), she was the youngest on The Unit, and also appeared on Dancing High. She's like the best dancer on The Unit. Her audition was legendary. I think professionally, experience and perfromance wise, you'll enjoy The Unit more bcs these idols on the show debuted already before, and has prior experiences. The dance, vocal and rap on this show is superior among the survival shows, the only negative thing was that the editing is kinda lousy, that's all. If you watch The Unit, please keep an eye on Ji Hansol, Feeldog, Rockhyun, Seyong and Jeup for the boys, Lee Joohyun, Semmi, Viva, Yeoeun and Song Heejin for the girls. Dancing High is also a great show, those kids are so talented and so precious and there's HOYA, GIKWANG and other dancers you might have seen on HTS. I enjoyed watching that show a lot.

For shows, I'd suggest Street Dance China 3 now feat. Exo's Lay, Got7's Jackson, and Uniq's Yibo. It really features street dancers and the format is kinda like the Voice. But it's still ongoing. I'll tell you when it's done and subbed. For variety, call me biased but I suggest WayV's Dream Plan. It's about WayV's journey in getting their first stage as a group. They had to do these challenges. It's funny, it's touching as well. Spoiler: they all cried. I believe it's subbed on Dailymotion now because the network has deleted the official ones on youtube 😔

Also to warn you that dance war is more of dance cover shows than a performance show and it very heavily base on popularity than skill and it annoying me alot that many good dancer has been eliminated but their last performace on the end of year stage is so good though

For variety show recommendation, I recommend "seventeen one fine day"(it has 2 season and both of them is very fun) it was so fun to watch and I enjoy it a lot also "NCT life" it's also fun and has many seasons to watch(I like the first one the most it was before they debut and everyone is still a kid it so cute). For The boyz they have tons of fun variety to watch flowersnack is so fun to see them open up their own snack bar also rpg summer vacation is so good to watch too. There also a show called "The100" where rookies idol need to prepare a mini concert within 100hr, this one I was very recommend you to watch it because it not only show they skill to prepare a show themselves but its show many side and process of making it heppen + some fun activities that they do together( they only has 3 group doing it but I recommend the boyz one)

could u please react to Queendom (maybe in the future)? it's a great way to get introduced to some insanely talented girl groups since I know you have only just started watching girl groups! It's also interesting to see the changes made to RTK- it's definitely less intense/trick heavy performance wise but the creativity aspect is still there! the groups are mamamoo, gidle, lovelyz, oh my girl, park bom, and aoa!! you actually know yooa from oh my girl, she featured on ONF's RTK performance and she was also in U-kwon's cat/dog performance on HTS! She's an amazing underrated dancer and I'd love to see you react to her! Interested to see your opinions on some of the performances! Thanks so much :)

You should watch Under Nineteen it’s a survival show for the making the boy group 1THE9 they are a very talented group and the contestants on the show are very talented p.s.- Win from MCND is on that show

Another amazing survival show is Chinese Idol Producer! I mostly recommend the first season with Lay and Jackson. I think that this season had the best interactions and overall feeling and also the best contestants with lots of talents and charisma. I was constantly laughing/bawling my eyes out 😂

I know you’re not that big on girlgroups and I have to be honest neither was I until I watched Queendom. It’s like RTK but better. The performances are stunning, the song rearrangements and songs are awesome and the general mood of the show is alot more positive and uplifting than RTK. I loved RTK but Queendom is also just MUH MORE amazing when we’re talking about LIVE vocals. The contestants were (G)-IDLE, MAMAMOO, oh My Girl, AOA, Park Bom and Lovelyz. I hope you at least check out a few of the performances one day. I’ll send you a list if you only want to do a limited amount. I really enjoyed dancing high, it had some really good dancers and jisung was hreat in it - i liked the judge’s too. Jisung also did another show with one of the judges (gikwang), SJ Eunhyuk and Taemin called ‘Why not the dancer’ that you should check out. In that they go to america and choreograph a dance cover. That was really fun.

I really enjoyed Dancing High, highly recommend that one. The Unit was pretty good too, with all the already debuted group members. NCT has an NCT Daily YouTube account with a lot of awesome content, really fun to watch. Would love to recommend some specific ones for you to watch, starting with some Johnny’s Communication Center (JCC).

I voted Mixnine - just as I love it for ACE and also ONF are on there too. I know a number of other idols who made it into other groups were also on the show. I do think you may want to do edited reactions to it though as the format was really frustrating in terms of what was in an episode and what wasn't, but some of the performances are my favourite from survivial shows.

The Unit and Dancing High are definitely highly recommended. The Unit really brings out some talented and struggling idols. Their performance are amazing. They also have dance battle, rap battle, vocal battle; all the boys and girls are talented, funny with great chemistry. Dancing High are focused on dancing and young talents. Various dance style can be seen in this show, ofc the performance are top-notch.

I don’t think I saw anyone suggest it yet but dancing 9 is another dance competition show. I honestly don’t remember if it was good though since I watched it 5 years ago but a lot of the backup dancers from HTS appeared on it and you’ll see a big variety of different dance genres on it.

definitely hoping u do dancing high !! as much as i love idols (and dancing high does have a lot of dancing mentors and guest judges anyway) theres not a lot of opportunity for non idol dancers to be highlighted and dancing high was so so refreshing when it comes to showcasing young talent and the diversity of the korean dance scene that the idol industry kind of overshadows.

Damn we have really all been played by Mnet - although idk what I even expected of them. I was really looking forward to Kingdom as well but sigh I had a hard time choosing between MixNine/The Unit but I do think The Unit had slightly better stages (although M9 had some lovely performances as well). They're both so sad in hindsight though :( I think you commented once that you'd like to see Produce season 2 aka the Wanna One season as well? That would be great if you did get to it at some point, it's still my favourite Produce season by a mile. Re: variety shows, while I echo the other comments about group-specific variety (I hope everyone checks out a GoSe episode at least once - it is literally the best group variety I've ever seen) or shows like KB, I would also suggest some older ones like Star Golden Bell. They wouldn't be great perhaps for group-focuses and they have older groups but they're legitimately hilarious and are set apart because of the amazing levels of idol interactions we used to get. Maybe you could also do something like check out some of the One Fine Day series (SVT had two, and other older groups like VIXX also have a season - great to get to know the groups better) but that would definitely be far more in the future haha

I rewatch parts of Mixnine because great performances and kiddos that got me into different groups, but the editing and YG ...not so great lol Voted The Unit cause honestly a good idea to give struggling idols a spotlight, sadly it was too underrated compared to Produce 101. But great talents/groups & performances to discover and I like the vibe of the show :)

I also would recommend knowing bros or something like we-kpop, there is about 20episodes and alot of groups that you are interested in have been on, ( ateez,nct,stray kids,sf9 ect.) . I really like going seventeen ane nct life , but its then just one group which i think is a shame.

I think maybe something like NCT Life to get to know them better. There’s many seasons to and the switch up the members a lot so you could see different dynamics. Also for survival shows i recommend Under Nineteen. Many people don’t know about it but i personally enjoyed it so much. The group that has come from their will be disbanding in august so that’s sad but the show is still a must see personally.

The show I really like is the call it has a really cool concept they are all established artists. Then they come on to the show they perform in disguise. Based on the performance the difference team have to decide call that artist to be on there team. The artist is revealed and there were so many surprises. The performance were amazing and the behind the scene footage is great you really get to see how they come up with concepts. The show is amazing and different from any show I have seen so far.

I would suggest Stray Kids. It has a lot of Behind the scenes on how they grew and developed. It's the survival show of Stray Kids Pre-Debut. I cried alot during it though. I would compare it a bit to produce x 101, just with 1 group.

I think it would be really cool if you watched more get to know variety shows for specific groups. I don't know if you are interested in reacting to things that aren't related to performance but it would be fun. I would love for you to get to know Seventeen better; they have a show called Going Seventeen which started out as them just showing behind the scenes stuff but in 2019 they changed the format to be more like run BTS and they're soooo funny. Because there's 13 of them it's always chaotic and out of control. I think occasional episodes of Knowing Bros with the groups you like would be fun too, it's my favorite variety show and I watch it even when idk the guests cause it's so fun!

ATEEZ has some funny variety shows like ATEEZ Wanted. ASTRO has seem to have some cool ones to, I too have yet to watch those though. And I agree with Shivan Lachman, Knowing Brothers is always funny (especially EXO’s episodes), plus it’s a good way to putting names to faces.

There are like...no happy endings on that whole show and I say that as a unme (UNB fan) Mixnine at least you can see the early days of rising stars from ONEUS, onf, ace, ateez, cix, treasure as opposed to the last hope of now disbanded and still unknown groups.

For variety shows, many groups like Seventeen and BTS have their own show on YouTube/Vlive. I would recommend Going Seventeen (I recommend starting from 2019/2020 since the content is more structured but it's still really funny) and Run BTS. I also second the knowing bros episodes for the groups you're covering.

For variety shows, knowing bro’s is hilarious. I would recommend starting with the episode with e dawn and hyuna. Hyuna said it’s going to be their only variety shows appearance as a couple. If you don’t really care about that then just watch whatever episode with the idols like.
