The "Spiral Trial" collaboration (1 map, 6 ambiences, 3 SFX)

Hello everyone!

Here's the first release of the month, and I really like how this start looks like :D

This is the fourth collaboration with The Goblin Explorer! We worked on a full dungeon level, he provided the map, I made 6 ambiences as well as 3 SFX.

The Goblin Explorer

“Grab a torch, prepare your sword, The Goblin Explorer will bring you inside the darkest recesses of the Endless Dungeon. Every Tuesday a new battlemap, going forever deeper, fully detailed and ready to play featuring also full FoundryVTT/E+ support and plenty of assets.”

How he describes the dungeon

• 1. Top left, the entrance
• 2. Two magic circles inside the wall and an invisible wall in the middle prevents anybody from reaching the other side. You need to solve a riddle to activate the portals and finally reach the other door.
• 3. Some serious exploding traps.
• 4. Another riddle to solve. If you are smart enough to light the right braziers the door will open (a bit like in a Zelda game).
• 5. A strong wind blowing over a bridge precariously suspended over a deep pit.
• 6. You need to find the right book to complete the ritual and open the door.
• 7. The item that you need to open the next door is inside the well. oh well...
• 8. Watch out for the spiders! 9. Discover the secret passage to reach the other part of the room. 
• 10. Quicksands made of bones, the floor tries to grasp you and bring you deep inside. 11. The idol has to be taken but be careful with the pressure plate.
• 12. A ghost is trapped here. It's probably necessary to fight.
• 13. A big monster is sleeping in front of the next door.
• 14. Get the blessing from the dark mother to reach the last room.
• 15. Finally the exit - easy peasy.

The map comes in many variations.

Ambiences

As always, I have a lot of freedom when I collaborate with TheGoblinExplorer, so I made some ambiences that felt useful to me in many situations.

• Spiral Trial - Main. I used 8 different synths for that track, as well as other SFXs. They are all evolving and blending carefully.
• Spiral Trial - The Root of all Evil. Was meant to be used in the room with the pentagram.
• Spiral Trial - Spiders Den. A perfect ambience for a unicorn glade. Wait, no.
• Spiral Trial - Main (low). Main, variation.
• Spiral Trial - Underground River.
• Spiral Trial - Ethereal Chants. Haunted oO I don't recommend long rests here.

SFX

I'm especially proud of the first two SFX of this list. They were really fun to make (although quite complexe). I think your players will be really impressed by them, ... and may shit their pants at the explosion trap one :D

As for the third, it pales in comparison in terms of epicness (you can't beat EXPLOSIONS or EVIL stuff), but can be really cool if you have the opportunity to position the sound (such as on FoundryVTT). It's the sound you hear when you are close to a well. Will you jump in the water ? :) Also it's seamless. It's a mini-ambience!
