Widowmaker Gym: Workout 3 (6K) +BW

WM breaking a sweat with the kettlebell weights.

How does the sweat look? I am using a new technique for the sweat accumulation, and a new material setup. Compared to the old way that I was doing it, I think it looks a lot better, but do you see anything that needs improvement?

Also, one of the other creators that I follow always releases a Black and White(BW) version accompanying their posts. So, I decided to give it a shot. Since color isn't in the mix, the luminance values are the only thing that I can adjust to give texture and depth to the render. Good practice for understanding lighting.

The Blurriness is from a lens effect in the compositor. An added imperfection to the scene for realism. The chromatic aberration (red blue fringing) is something you would see in a older lower quality lens. I keep it to a low level but when the aspect ratio changes farther away form a 1:1 ratio, the effect gets stronger. Without it though, the renders come out to be too perfect. Which doesn't exist in the real world, so the brain rejects it.

Sweat looks good, but I'd be lying if I said I'd paid much attention to it beforehand. B&W -- sure, if you want to, but to me it's always been an artifact of insufficiently advanced technology, and has about as much relevance today as e.g. printing on vellum or papyrus. There's no need to release books imprinted on anything other than modern paper, and certainly no desire to on my part. That said, to a graphics geek who throws words like 'luminance' around like they're an everyday utterance, the view is quite possibly a little different. ;-) What's with the blurriness at the extremities -- shoes, drink bottle, hand holding the weight? I'd expect fixed focus to have a plane that's in focus, and all those are in the same plane as her sharply focused body.
