I started by integrating the tracing minigame into the game (screenshot 3). There were a few adjustments left to make, like the chronometer icon on the top right, and I had to make sure it transitioned smoothly from the game segment into the minigame. But the majority of the work on this minigame was done by Charis, thanks a lot to him! There’s starting to be quite a list of people who have helped contribute to the game, so it's time to find a place to add a credits button somewhere on the title screen! There are new graphics on the squirrel drawing board, and it’s now been fully integrated into the game (screenshot 1). I love doing those close-ups where you can explore different elements, it adds some flair to the game and gives you a little window into the world of the Hive and the daily life of its residents. Something that took me way too long was integrating a small graphic and animation for the correct answers June gets in the Giraffe classroom (screenshot 2). I’d like these correct answers to eventually lead to rewards that would influence the characters’ storylines. I also started sketching the puppet theater segment in the squirrel class. I think it will work a bit like the close-ups I did for the television segments, but with several layers. And finally, I commissioned the great Vaabs to sketch another in-game commercial! This one will be used for the very first segment with Maddie at home. Next week, I plan to work more on the puppet theater segment, it should be a big piece!
