I started by revisiting Nana to update the potty interaction. There’s still a lot of dialogue to integrate, along with some variations for the placeholder picture. Going to Nana for help will be one of the only two ways to temporarily get June in a diaper for the rest of the day. (Screenshot 1) I also worked on the evening events, particularly another potty scene, which will have its own placeholder picture. (Screenshot 2) What took me ages was building a routine for the evening that triggers different scenes depending on whether June reaches another reset level. It reminded me of the potty system from Perpetual Change in a bad way since this is more complex and meandering. I had to rework the structure several times before getting something that should theoretically work. Next up is a little bath scene. If June is already at reset level 1, she’ll react differently to wearing the pull-up. (Screenshot 3) A new TV show makes its appearance! I didn’t have time to line and color the pictures, but it’ll work well enough for the demo. (Screenshot 4) The show seems to inspire Lola to have some fun! I threw together a placeholder picture quickly for the scene. Given the deadline crunch, I can’t be too picky, but if I find time, I’d love to redo that placeholder. (Screenshot 5) Lastly, I worked on the closing scene for the day, right before night. June finally gets to choose a name for her plushie! (Screenshot 6) That wraps up today’s progress! Next week, I’ll playtest the whole game, check for issues, and prepare the demo!
