dw, you didn’t come across that way at all! but yeah, I prefer s1 to 2 but I also preferred Got s1 over s2 so I’m hoping this show has the same trajectory (ie s3 better and s4 the best)

Yeah I agree I still love this show but I hate seeing it declining in quality, its not HORRIBLE but its disappointing unfortunately 🤷♂️😔

Oh I definitely have issues with this season too, more with glaring plot holes (like with the smallfolk of KL starving because of the blockade when food comes from the Reach not the Free Cities). My original comment was specifically referring to the complaints that there are too many filler episodes which I think is just inaccurate.
And as a book reader there are changes that I’m really not happy with like Nettles being cut. GRRM also had a length blogpost that was essentially a rant about it. I also feel like certain major events from the book haven’t really haunted the narrative like they should (Luke’s death, Jahaerys’s death, Rhaenys’s death etc)
For me these issues became hard to ignore in ep5 but I also still love the show and there are far more things that I like than dislike.

I talked to a lot of people since the release of the episode and trust me there’s other complaints than the kissing scene 😂
- pacing issues since its only 8 episodes not 10
- the difference in writing ( 1>>>2)
- daemons story in harrenhall ( 4 episodes is too much , to be precise the hallucinations )
- dragons hunting in the vale ( i thinks its from grrm’s blog )
- removing characters that were important in the books ( I heard about a character named nettles and a couple more )
- the whole grandmother situation with darklyn
If they keep changing / removing stuff from the story its going to fall apart
George said it in his blog - Ignore canon, and the world you’ve created comes apart like tissue paper
- BTW I’m not hating because I loved a lot of things in this season and episodes ( episode 2 and 4 are excellent and probably one of my favorite episodes in the got universe)
It’s just I can see that there’s a lot of decline in quality 🥲 and a lot of people are realizing it especially in episode 6

The actor who plays Aemond talked about how in the moment where he fires Alicent he does it because he feels like she’s the only one who’s capable of getting through to him and tempering his impulses, and he doesn’t want that while he’s trying to win the war.

This episode got review bombed because of the rhaenyra/mysaria kiss so it’s not too accurate.
Tbh I don’t get the “filler” complaints either. With GoT we went 18 episodes before seeing our first battle, most of s2 was character work and build up to the Battle of Blackwater.
