This show does a great job showing the action, especially considering they couldn’t rely on cgi. If you ever want to see the best overview of D-Day check out the movie The Longest Day. It starred a ton of celebrities from both the US and Europe and covers D-Day from both the Allies and German perspective. A large number of soldiers who fought in D-Day serve as all the extras in the film.

I agree about the how well shot that Brecourt Manor battle scene was filmed. The scene when Hall was killed is tough because even though he wasn't a part of Easy Company, he just wanted to be a part of the group. I liked when he said his nickname was "Cowboy" and they figured he was from Texas, but he said he was from Manhattan. :)
By the way, there at the end, one of the medals was awarded to Bill Guarnere (Gar-neer or "Gonorrhea" - haha.). He's the one that lost his brother.
