Norse tribes did this in real life, symbolizing - as ships and all things connected to the sea were a big thing - the last journey, for kings and noblemen at least. I've seen that picked up in medieval/fantasy shows and video games a lot lately and I think it's a cool little detail

2023-02-18 16:13:04 +0000 UTCAbout soldiers and singing. Its fun, relaxing, fights boredom and gives a morale and comradie boost for them. We sang a lot when I was in my country's military. Nobody gives a shit if you cant sing. We sang lots of stuff from early 00's, but older songs too. Metal, Rock, Pop.. Everything went. I was "special" so we did that when we had extra time on the chopper, city combat simulator, training to rope down walls.. Fucking good memories. Actually got a call to go back to do some re-training because there is war in Europe so hitting the gym and doing sports atm to get fit. Can't be in "Sam" shape if I need kick doors down, climb in gear or roping down that wall. COD makes that look so easy. 🙄 Also they explain about soldiers and singing in that great HBO's Generation Kill series if you hopefully check it out someday.

2023-02-18 15:08:59 +0000 UTCThis to me is one of the strongest episodes. How it uses action to explain character. Like Blackfish and Edmure are both introduced wordlessly. We see Edmure is a bit of a fuck up not hitting his father’s boat with the arrow. And Blackfish hits it in a single try. And then the small council scene where Cersei takes her chair right next to her father because she’s an ass kisser, but Tyrion puts his at the end to be seen as his fathers equal. It says so much without dialogue.

2023-02-18 06:12:42 +0000 UTCAnother parallel in this one - Robb's uncle didn't know what he was planning and didn't trust him enough to go along with it, Daenarys might have a plan and Barristen and Mormon don't seem to trust her enough to not freak out and question her reasoning. Also - Caetlyn has some of the best scenes this season.
