Neat! This is the new VersioN of Nevera Tales 3 in pencil vs the old ink style. Its been difficult coping with the loss of my ability to do fine hatching like that... but I really like the pencil version  too, I think it improves in a lot of ways while still nodding heavily towards the old ways.

You may remember Nevera Tales, the dark fantasy comic written by Daniel Bishop with arts by yours truly~

This is long long LOOONG overdue. The art style is a bit different because I can't use a pen in that way since my wrist injury a year or whatever ago. I had begun the 3rd installment before that and was never able to complete it despite some painful and disappointing attempts. Life, uh, finds a way though.

i wish i had taken more process pics throughout this one, but at least you can see where i start vs where i finish. I work from light to dark with layers of graphite. At least one pass with a dark water-soluble pencil.

I'm always open to questions too! If y'all are interested i could put together an in-depth overview on my current process.. just sayin

I really am a fan of just splash pages huh. I swear it makes sense here as this is the first time our protagonist is revealed. Spriggan is amazing and i love them so they deserve all of it.

The pose is an homage to the art that paved the way for how far sequential art has come, but mostly is just a pretty natural pose for an alert feline. Now its time for something completely different~

I can't lie i'm always pretty nervous about executing detailed forest environments...
