2023-02-11 07:01:26 +0000 UTCso actually, valyrian is spoken in many areas in essos. it originated with the valyrian dragonlords, and that area of the world was the freehold of valyria. the targaryens are descendants of these valyrian dragonlords. they fled valyria before the doom that destroyed valyria because one of the targaryens foresaw the doom in a dream. they came to dragonstone and 100 years after the doom is when aegon the conqueror conquered westeros. valyrian steel is called that because almost all valyrian steel was forged in valyria, most likely the result of dragon fire and blood sacrifice being involved in the forging of such steel. sorry for the long comment but hope it helps!
