I forgot to mention this the first time I watched this reaction. "All that just from a picture?" No. There's a lot more alluded to than just the picture in terms of why Reese was so taken with Sarah even before he went back in time and met her. For one thing, John would have talked a lot about her in addition to giving Reese the pic of her. And he said he chose to go back in time to protect her, in part, because it was a chance to "meet the legend." I took from this that he read up on her. Kind of like reading about a famous hero from history. To him, she would have been built up, larger than life. He would have looked on her the way many people look on real freedom fighters in history, say, the way we might look upon people like Harriet Tubman (the creator of the underground railroad in the old south), or Joan of Arc. Now that you've seen T2, you can see that the vision he had of Sarah Conner is not wrong. She was a badass hero who was, in large part, responsible for the salvation of the world. No wonder he was in love with her.
