January Newsletter

Hello, you lovely patrons! Thank you so much for being here. And a special first time thank you  to all my new patrons, too! (Hi Raquel, Ice, and Elana!!!)

This monthly update will probably be on the shorter side. I just wanted  to let you all know I'm hard at work on the final 8 pages of the first Keeping Time chapter. I can't believe we're here! I know we're off to a bit of a slow start, story-wise, and Chapter 2 is where things really pick up and we finally get to meet the rest of the band, and I can't wait to start on it.

....But I probably won't jump on Chapter 2 pencils right away, because like I mentioned in a comment on a recent page, I have a lot of scripting and thumbnailing to do!! My editor and I recently had a huge break through with a pivotal plot point that I'd been sort of stuck on for months now, and suddenly my path forward is so much clearer. I'll probably spend a couple of weeks charting out more script and thumbs before coming back to Chapter 2 work!

I'm still eyeing a March/April public launch over at keepingtimecomic.com but I'm getting a little nervous with how quickly those dates are approaching... mayhaps I'll have to push back a public launch, because I really need a nice amount of buffer pages before we go public, and I'm just not sure 30 pages is enough. Particularly because I plan on dropping the first 11 pages all at once at launch! (And if I plan on doing twice-weekly updates, that means I would only have bought myself 10 weeks of time with the rest of those 19 pages.... terrifying!!)

For my dear Espresso shot patrons -- while doing dishes last night, I was struck with a wonderful/terrible idea of a silly comic about sex (probably in the style of manga's yonkoma gag strips), and I have been unable to convince myself not to start it, so. Please look forward to my terrible brand of humor. (There will be butts in it, I promise.)

In personal news, Seattle is experiencing some of the coldest weather it's seen in 13 years, so I am happy to report both of my cats now live on their window ledges above the baseboard heater. They will not move for anything.

Surely Denver would have a perfectly mild, humble reaction to this sort of compliment. Surely it's not going to go straight to his head and make him insufferable. This can only bode well for the band
