I'm crawling out of my grave and I'm doing just TIRED.
I mean, hello! I'm home! My trip got delayed due to a family member's covid scare (they came back negative, but not in time for us to make our original flights), so my week in my home state of Hawai'i finally came to an end this past weekend. We flew back home on an overnight from Honolulu to Seattle and it was maybe the worst flight I've ever experienced in my life?
It was a literal full flight and the cabin was kept so, so warm, I felt nauseous the whole flight! Which means I didn't sleep for something like 36 hours? One of the first things I did when I got back to my apartment here in Seattle was take an oatmeal bath, except I fell asleep in the bath tub for something like 40 minutes, thus answering a lifelong question I've had: "Do you drown if you fall asleep in the tub?" The answer, I've learned, is: "Not necessarily but IT'S STILL NOT A GOOD IDEA"
Then I had a few days of appointments, then my partner worked some weird-ass overnight shifts, and now today, finally, I'm feeling like I can get back into my creative work routine.
I'm finishing up the flats on the 9 pages I inked before I left, which means I only have 3 pages after that to draw before I have the first mini-arc of my comic! When this set of pages are complete, I'll share them all as a batch to you here on Patreon.
Since flats are sort of a visual nightmare to look at, here's one of those inked pages with some temporary lettering, featuring Denver and his older sister, Rorie.
