WELL, mission success, probably!! And it's official, this A5 page size totally works for me. I've only ever worked at standard US comic size prior to this (considerably larger and narrower than A5), but I'm digging it!
This was also a really good chance for me to figure out how I want to ink and color this comic. I'm trying to go for something that's reasonably quick for me to do that still looks like my illustrative work. I'm on like, year 2 now of switching from a painterly style to a lineart and cel-shade focused one, and I'm finally landing somewhere that feels a bit like combining the best of both worlds.
ALSO LOL THIS IS BABY'S FIRST LETTERING EXPERIMENT. IT'S BAD, I KNOW, BUT I'LL GET THERE. I'm gonna letter this comic myself because I've always wanted to get into lettering!! But I was lazy this time and experimented with it in CSP instead of doing the full Illustrator route. Font here is Plot Holes from Blambot, which is free to use for non-profit and indie comics!
