EDIT: FINALLY JEEZ I kept trying to upload the full size wallpaper for you all as an attachment, and it wouldn't go until JUST NOW. So uh. Nab it if you want it!
Ohhh my god. This took. So many hours. So many hours over the course of a week, with one or two days dedicated solely to fixing my donked-up perspective (assisted with the help of a friend, who correctly placed my horizon line at the bottom of the canvas, instead of where I had it like, a screen-inch or two below).
Anyway, the concept for this one was simple! I wanted to capture a child's wonder at getting to see the city's hero flying overhead. I feel like if I grew up in a city with a local caped hero, catching a glimpse of them would be one of those moments that turns into a story I share at school, at the dinner table, over and over again to anyone who'd listen.
And yep! That is indeed supposed to be Matt McGinnis. I kept hearing that one line in my head as I worked on this from, I think it was S1Ep6, "Heroes"? Where he tells Terry, "Batman rips!" Haha! Anyway.
I started this one strong, really excited to get another Batman Beyond painting done and shared with you all, but I definitely overextended myself, ahaha! BUT, I learned a ton while working on this that I wouldn't have otherwise.
I keep trying and failing to add the PSD of this as an attachment to this post. I think it's over the allowed size limit (even if I zip it), so I'll probably add it to the Dropbox and send you folks a link for it on the 30th!
